So over on the "board that shall remain nameless" a bunch of shippers are rambling about how Lindsey's love life is a sham, yada yada yada, and I read somewhere in the thread that Lindsey went on the Enchanted tour with Stevie.
I must know more about this! So please, enlighten me!

A good portion of them also belong to this board too however, so you may get lucky.

I love when people think this stuff up. Let's all make big glittery sigs with ~Stevie~ lyrics to celebrate the occasion! Or shouldn't we be calling her Mrs. Buckingham? Wasn't there a secret wedding a few years back?
Oh my...this is just killing me.

i'm sure the argument to that would be that since stevie and lindsey were married before, his current marriage to whatsherface wouldn't be valid. you can't try to argue with those shipper people...they have an answer for everything.

I must admit i've enjoyed reading the stories about Kristen being an actress named Brittany and the supposedly fake marriage. Reminded me of the "Paul is dead" theory long time ago.
Maybe someone should try playing some of LB's songs backwards, who knows what we could find out

I didn't follow the whole story, but I thought that part (the actress part) was actually true? I saw pictures of the film and it definately looked a whole lot like her.

I really do not know. When you google Brittney Hansen you'll find there are a lot of people with that name. It is not unthinkable one of them might resemble Kristen.
On the other hand; in some pictures Kristen does not look like Kristen in other pictures. Sounds confusing eh but you know what i mean ?
But i do not want to start that kind of discussion on this board. Whoever Kristen is/was is private and personal and none of our business (even though we would love to know 'cause after all we're only human haha !)

Hay ya'll, well OMG, I haven't been to this board in years, YEARS, I am telling you... and what do I see when I fall into the gap but a thread about Lindsey supposedly being around on the Enchanted Tour, hee! What is this I ask myself? Ooh, must check it out....
Well, at the risk of sounding like one of those crazy shippers, let me assure you that not all of us bought into the whole Stevie and Lindsey thing to the same degree. One of the reasons I pulled the plug on my involvement in all the speculation about it was that there got to be one or two people who were sending me ridiculous emails about bizarre conspiracies and cloak and dagger escapades that would put Sherlock Holmes to shame. It even gave me, with my romantic leanings about Stevie and Lindsey, a big case of the heebie jeebies, so that's saying something. Once people started talking about secret weddings and Will looking like Stevie and Kristen being an impostor, I was like, woah...this has been fun and all, but dayum. Somewhere, somehow, the screws went loose in a few heads and I was done. I know I am not the only one who feels this way, either.
Now, I am still a romantic, and yes, I will always believe that Stevie and Lindsey will forever harbor tender feelings for each other, but even I know where to draw the line and can recognize when it's time to give it up and let these people that I don't even know live their own lives. There's fun, and then there's scary and even worse, scary stupid, which unfortunately some people morphed into. This whole business of Kristen being some hired actress to play Lindsey's wife is total BS and people who truly think that are looney tunes for sure. Myself, and alot of other people who populated Nancy's BN.net just liked to speculate and have a good old laugh, and the majority never bought into wild conspiracy theories. I think Lindsey will always carry a torch for Stevie, but I completely believe he does not think about her everyday anymore, and he loves his wife and his life right now. Everything has a time and a season. Stevie also seems to be happy, and they both appear to want to keep their private life private. Nobody knows what is going on with those two, and nobody ever will. They are both big grown ups and can take care of themselves, I figure.
Anyhoo, having said all that, I'll actually get around to answering the OP's question, or at least what I know about it. Lindsey was evidently spotted by some fans at 2 or 3 Enchanted shows in June-July 1998. I used to know the exact dates and all that, but I deleted all of that info once I stopped caring. The thing that caused alot of speculative talk was that he was spotted right before Will was born, then showed up again a couple of weeks after. He was evidently being very low-key, wearing a ball cap or seen in the wings. At the time it wasn't a huge deal because most people didn't even know he had a pregnant girlfriend until it was all over. There were even people who assumed he and Stevie were sorta together. Then there was the Andre Agassi thing where they were alledgedly smooching it up in the wings. Who knows. Now, possibly it wasn't him. Or if it was, he could have been there as a friend, or maybe he was working out his own issues about fatherhood, to which he was reportedly reluctant at first. I don't know, but that is what people were talking about at the time. I am no longer that concerned about it. Whatever happened, happened, and people can speculate all they want, but nobody knows what did or did not go down.
I like to think of myself as one of the reasonable ones, haha, just ask my ol' pal strand! Hay, Jason my love!
Any other of those deep dark shipper secrets you want revealed, just ask. I have no problem telling you. I have seen the best and the worst of it, and have lived to tell.

I am well. Lots of things have changed though. For starteres - almost none of the peeps around in the TISL and SYW days are here anymore. Many got banned after a big bruhaha last Summer. Many just left for a myriad of reasons.
Anyway - I need to get to Savannah soon!

Well, Marty and Lisa sold the board and right before that, a new one strike and you're out rule was implemented. Then, anytime anyone cursed, they were out, though some people allegedly were warned (I have no personal knowledge of any private conversations). So, people like Tower, Mari, and others are gone and likely never to come back. To me, that is sad, but I did not buy The Ledge, I am not in charge of the rules, etc.
Then, prior to that, www.sevenwondersonline.net went ape shiitte and Brian (liquidblue2000) banned many members and then after a huge argument over why the banning happened (he alleged he was being trrashed by these people elsewhere) - shut down the board. The banned members pretty much all came here and started biching about that board. Some of the banned casued trouble here by getting into fights and IMO picking fights - though certainly not all the banned acted that way. Sevenwonders is reopened under new management, though he is or was a friend of Brian.
So, all that drama along with the decline of the product from FM and members has made for lessened popularity of this board.
I stopped posting here for awhile, but am back fairly regularly now.

Hello Sulasmith!
I do not know you, but your post was a very good read, since I had no idea what the thread was about. Thanks for the Cliff's Notes version. I am a newbie here and had heard none of the past soap opera drama...infact, dumb ass me, thought Enchanted was her current tour (which is Crystal Visions, right?)
Anyhow, your post was more entertaining than today's Denver Post, and my cup of coffee thought so too. Thanks for the explanation and I hope to see more of you.

Hi Betsy, and thanks. Glad it was entertaining!
you know there are alot of factions and camps within FM fans, and there always have been, always will be. When it comes to Stevie and Lindsey, it runs the gamut from people who think he never gave her another thought after 1977, all the way up to they are secretly married and Stevie actually gave birth to Will ::rollseyes::.
I fall somewhere in the camp that believes they were addicted to each other physically up to 1987 and while they may have had long periods of time, a year or more even, between seeing each other from 77-87, and despite being involved with others, they were still hitting the sheets on a fairly regular basis, especially during Mirage. There's no sex like heady, substance-fueled grudge sex after the high of a show, ;)... That's why the 87 breakup was so painful and traumatic for Stevie. She didn't think he would ever really leave her, and when he did, she went all kindsa loopy without him.
The 93 Inaugural must have been brutal for her. She looked awful, he looked great and blew her off. Ouch. She had lost her power over him. Hence, Blue Denim is written.
I also think there was a bit of hanky panky during The Dance. If for no ther reason than for Stevie to prove something to herself, that she still had her mojo. If she didn't really want him, she wanted the pleasure of turning him down, no? After that, it's all shadows and shades of gray.
We'll never know.

At the Dance taping....before Landslide....she does the ole dedication thing. I thought the "This is for you Daddy" meant Lindsey since he was gonna be a father....I thought (and I have NOT viewed the tape in a while) that she looked at Mr. B. when she said it...then they do the "Thank you Lindsey" ... "Thank you Stevie" ... in true Waltons style....
Who was Daddy....Mr. Nicks or Mr. Buckingham?

100% WAS NOT Liddy
100% WAS Mr. Nicks
keep in mind Stevie frequently said Landslide was her father's song because he seemed to think she wrote it for/about him.

Ah hell....I thought it worked perfectly into the Kristen-is-the-surrogate-for-Lindsey-&-Stevie's love child storyline...written by Carol Ann Harris, of course.
I am new FM fan (2006) and never knew the drama of the 70's and the love-hate relationship, but the more I read of it, it reminds me of that comedy A MIGHTY WIND about these two folksingers...and their great love, etc. etc.
Anybody see that movie?

02-20-2008, 12:14 PM
Oh it was her own father, for sure. The Dance was taped in May of 1997 I believe. Will was not even a sparkle in his Daddy's eye at that time. As a matter of fact, Lindsey even told one of those radio dudes (in some interview I can no longer reference) that he had a girlfriend but that they had broken up. He made it pretty clear during this period that he was unattached. Also recall what he said in the Rolling Stone interview when asked if he and Stevie were going to get back together...he said "you never know". To which Stevie got all pissy and replied "over my dead body", causing Lindsey to be forced to save face and say he was only kidding all along, poor baby.
Landslide is one of those Stevie songs that seems very straightforward, but over the years has proven more enigmatic than we first thought. She revealed during SYW that it was indeed....about Lindsey all along. She dedicated it to her father for years and years before that because she said he really liked the song and it made him happy for her to dedicate it to him. But it was all about dealing with Lindsey, so Stevie now says.

^ I think most people agree that something probably happened at some point after the breakup in '77. I mean, come on, they were young & hot & high all the time, and have admitted to a very strong sexual chemistry many times.
But get a grip, people. (not you, sanne!) To hunt for information on the internet trying to prove they own a secret love mansion together? Thinking that they've been married in secret for years? That LB can't possibly love ANYONE else because the magic of Stevie is SO strong that it's impossible to do so, but instead of just saying "hey, we're in love again" he feels the need to hide it & hire an actress to play his wife? Bitch please.

As for LB and La Nicks - who knows. I know shiitte I have seen with my own two peepers. I also think that is La Nicks chased him since The Dance - who da fool. But, I have always thought it was/is the other way around. LB chased/chases La Nicks.
I do think talking about it is fun though. And, it is not violating their privacy because they put it out there to sell records
But, yes, why hide it. Though The Dance was popular and La Nicks still has a certain panache in the public eye, would anyone in this day and age really give a rat's a$$ if, at the worst, La Nicks broke up a happy marriage. To me, that is G rated in era of vaginas being exposed while exiting cars - and, I, unlike 90% of the world, give a shiitte about La Nicks' personal life.

It was fun to talk about, but how many different ways can it be discussed? Eleven years after a few high notes and some intense looks, and people (not you) are still coming up with novel-length theories about secret weddings, mansions, babies, surrogates, etc. Not to mention those that sift through real estate records all day because they KNOW that Stevie and Lindsey are shacked up somewhere. Psychotic? Yes. Vomit worthy? Damn skippy!

It does nothing but bring me that much closer to being burnt out on the ~mystique~ of the band.

Hey, I gotta admit, I got burned out on it, myself. I reached a point where it was like, ok....there's nothing happening, we've discussed it to death, and frankly you people are scaring me now. It's ludicrous that Stevie and Lindsey would have some secret life together at this point in time. It's beyond stupid and completely unnecessary. It's not like they are famous like Brad & Angelina and have to negotiate elaborate plans to get any privacy. Stevie could barge into Lindsey's house, immobilize Kristen with gold dust, and lay herself down in the tall grass with him right there and it still wouldn't be a bigger story than Britney picking her nose. It wouldn't even register a blip on the tabloid radar.
Don't get me wrong, I still think Stevie and Lindsey's story is wonderfully tragic and romantic and says alot about the impression one great love can make on your life, but in the end, there's only so much fans can and should know. I have to remember they are real people, not characters in a novel, and even though I may think it would make an excellent ending to the story for them to wind up together, I have accept that I will probably never know and the story will remain unfinished. Especially since Stevie and Lindsey themselves are not talking.
So, I've been taking a FM break, and in the meantime have become a raging Led Zeppelin fan. Alot of Zep was banned where I grew up, so I didn't get beyond Stairway and Whole Lotta Love. Now, I can't live without it. Jimmy Page is a God. Sorry Linds.

. . . It's not like they are famous like Brad & Angelina . . . .
And, Brasd left America's beloved Jenifer Aniston for wild child (can you say vial of blood) Angelina and no one blinked an eye -- just saying

As for LB and La Nicks - who knows. I know shiitte I have seen with my own two peepers. There's certainly more to it than a few stupid songs and some flirty glances. But really... who cares? I certainly don't anymore. I have enough shit going on in my own life, I really don't care to waste any time figuring out someone else's.
I'd love some new music though. Anyone? Stevie? Lindsey? Come on.

And - I'd just like to add that it was not just the CSF (Crazy Shipper Fillies) -- they would have been happy to chirp away on Nancy's board ad infinitum. But, people just could not leave them alone. People deliberately went over there and stirred up the shiitte pot. And, they were attacked here and elsewhere for saying things like "It is obvious to me that they are still in love," which usually was replied to with something to the effect "you deluded bitch" -- but, it made for some good times, at least for me - and I never really attacked anyone unless they told me I did not see something I know I saw, esp. when they were not even there. All those threads are still on Nancy's board (www.buckinghamnicks.net) for those interested.

If you must know about this, then why are you over here asking the question? Why don't you go ask the rambling shippers, I am sure they would be happy to enlighten you.
A good portion of them also belong to this board too however, so you may get lucky.
I MIGHT pertain to that faction of people
but im not a member of any other undesirable board
and im certainly not a crazy who believes them to be secretly married
some shippers are normal
god forbid

I also think there was a bit of hanky panky during The Dance. If for no ther reason than for Stevie to prove something to herself, that she still had her mojo. If she didn't really want him, she wanted the pleasure of turning him down, no? After that, it's all shadows and shades of gray.
We'll never know.
woah
ur in my head
i think everyone thinks *something* about the Dance
good times
they were both in a stage of serious hotness
and the songs Stevie wrote during/after this tour have a lot to answer for lol

I know this thread is two weeks old and not the most savory of topics, but I figured since I was mentioned here, I'd put in my two cents.
I pretty much agree with everything sulamith said (hey girl!) I have withdrawn from the Mac internet fandom pretty much, although I still like to drop in every now and then. I do think that Lindsey and Stevie will always love each other on some level, but this new theory about them being secretly married for over 30 years, having children by surrogates, hiring actors to play girlfriends / boyfriends / wives / kids, going under assumed ie. Jimmy Iovine is really Lindsey Buckingham, Carol Ann is really Stevie... it doesn't make any sense.
I don't want to be judgmental because I know nice people that believe it, but... I'm sorry. It's completely unrealistic and I wish that they could see that, for their sake. Of course, some said that about the idea that they still loved each other after all these years, but I do think that is a bit more feasible, seeing as how Stevie said that herself.
