This looks the same as the one Shel posted..... the one like it is just off like a frame or two--her mouth is closed a little more and maybe her arm is moved or something--when I have a chance I'll look for it......

Stevie was the epitome of California cool in the 70's. The shoes, as you mentioned. The sundresses like she wore here or like she wore in the 'Tusk' video, the 'pukka bead' necklace, the sun-bleached hair....cool. It all says '78 Trans Am driven down the Pacific Coast Highway with the t-tops down, with an 8-track of 'Hotel California' blasting, heading to some weekend-long party in Malibu where massive quantities of Pina Colada's and cocaine will be consumed. Stop at Jack-In-The-Box for a burrito, and just make sure your overnight bag contains another sundress, your eyeshadow, and a diaphragm. Oh, and the little velvet bag of gold dust with silver spoon. 70's realness.

How 'bout a little noise to go along with your pictures.

All these sounds & sights bring back my memories of actually BEING THERE that day!

Bob Welch's set was at 9AM!!! Good morning, world! I'll bet that they hadn't slept the night before...I know I didn't!

After them was Heart....then the Dave Mason Band...then Santana...then Ted Nugent...then Foreigner...then Aerosmith. What a day of music!!

March 18, 1978!

Wow, what a show. And Stevie popped in on Bob's set, so I'm thinking that must have been before 10am or so. You know Stevie didn't sleep before, she said she never gets up that early! Even in old interviews she has said this. More likely, she woke up around 9pm or so the previous evening, and rock and rolled all night with her girlfriends. This 9am gig was probably the 'end of her day'!

Aren't there any pictures from the FM concert at Cal Jam? All the pictures are from Ebony Eyes or candids.

Heart's performance and stage wear make theirs the quintessential 70's concert experience on this video. It's wild.
Stevie and Mick were great with Bob too. And then you have them being interviewed by Jeff Conaway (now on Celebrity Rehab). Good times. Aerosmith looked high as a kite.

I wasn't sure but The Legacy has this listed on the Rumours tourpages:
"March 18, 1978 Ontario Motor Speedway Ontario, CA" with a fleetnote saying this is the Cal Jam2 concert

David, ever see the 'after set' video of this? Jeff Conaway (who was then semi-hot, having been on the TV show 'Taxi' and also the movie version of 'Grease') was trying to interview Bob, Mick and Stevie. And he must have been star-struck (or Stevie struck), because he passes right by Bob and asks Mick "what was it like performing in front of ## thousand people?"
And Mick was like "don't ask me, ask him, it wasn't our show". Jeff's embarassment was palpable. I was embarassed for him. Stevie also joined in on the bitchiness, when Jeff called FM an overnight sensation and she was like "it wasn't overnight".

That interview is painful!! Jeff Conaway def. looked like he was not only overly-thrilled to be there (despite his fame at the time he came across really really geeky, imo) and def. starstruck. I thought Bob Welch handled himself best of all, but he's always seemed like a low-key kinda guy. Stevie's comeback that it wasn't overnight and that "it took a year, more than a year" I thought was really on-time. Mick looked like a big doufus, though.

I can't believe he actually said "sore" when referring to Bob's departure from FM. Mick was like "what?" LOL! So corny!
