The music community will come together for a benefit for songwriter Lorna Flowers, who is battling cancer, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Commodore Sports Bar & Grill in the Holiday Inn Select, 2613 West End Ave.

Some of the hottest country songwriters in the business will be in attendance, as well as Bob Welch, the former Fleetwood Mac member. Other scheduled performers include Melody Guy, Corey Batten, Mark Stephen Jones, Trent Jeffcoat, Allen Haynes, Karen Keeley, Brian Karr, Rick Stewart, Bill Dee, Julie Forester, Rebecca Hosking, Eddie Heinzelman, Curtis Smith, Craig Winquist, Mike Willis, Dave Kinman, Hart Steen, Mike Taplinger, Queenie Mullinix, Jonathan Wells, Meghan Kabir and Tom Templeman.


There is no cover charge, but money will be collected to benefit Flowers. A silent auction will offer music equipment and instruments, a Music Row mailbox, recording time and other music-related services, CDs, artwork and autographed items.

Checks can also be sent to assist Flowers in her fight against cancer at 9 Music Square S. #369 Nashville, 37203.
