I'm on a major Butch Walker kick right now, so I'll say him. He can meld his voice into anything - the soft-spoken emo voice on one song, and gut-wrenching, screaming raaawk on the next...And I'd love to see him produce her too. Add him to the producer list right along with Rick Rubin and Jack White.

It would be amazing to see Stevie do a Crossroads show with some other male singer/artist. No one comes to mind at the moment, though.

I really enjoyed her duet with Ringo Starr. It's called LAY DOWN YOUR ARMS.

Hey Viv... or some other Ledgie who is in a generous mood...
Can you post LAY DOWN YOUR ARMS with Ringo Starr? Or tell me if it is on a CD, available for purchase?
Also...how's about NEEDLES AND PINS with Tom Petty? I am told that it exists but haven't heard it. It is supposed to be a live version.
(WOO HOO ... Thanksgiving is less than 3 weeks away and that means a 5 day weekend!! I am soooo ready for some downtime.)
Happy Friday - y'all!

Lay Down Your Arms is a Harry Nillson song. Ringo Starr (with Stevie Nicks) sang it for the tribute album (after his death): For the Love of Harry: Everybody Sings Nilsson

It does seem out of print, but you can but it New from a Amazon Seller for as little as $6 bucks. Quite a bargain for it.
See prices and sellers here. (http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B000000FPE/sr=8-2/qid=1194044347/ref=olp_tab_new/103-8663862-1847846?ie=UTF8&coliid=&me=&qid=1194044347&sr=8-2&seller=&colid=&condition=new)

I always thought she would be good paired with Bob Seger and Paul Rodgers. Or maybe Johnny Reznick from the Goo Goo Dolls.

Needles and Pins is on Tom Petty's CD Pack Up the Plantation Live which also contains Insider live.

More of background, but prominent.

the verses arent' all that magical, but the chorus is really good, imo. and the end, "ooh the two of us, well estranged sometimes ect ect"
"but they live apart"

Of course you do!
I never said I didn't like it, just that's it forgettable.
I really only like this part:
Who in the world do you think that you are fooling?
Well I've already done everything that you are doing
Well the two of us, well we must be...
A great temptation to have even started
Well don't you know, as you walk on by
That great temptations never really die...
