Hello Kirwan fans,

First let me provide a very extensive bio on Danny that I've had bookmarked for a while and have been wanting to share. I apologize if this has already been posted but I couldn't find it in a Ledge search. Anyway, here it is:

Second, I wanted to mention that Danny Kirwan's music has been a huge influence on my own playing and writing. Specifically there was one song from Bare Trees that really started it all for me, "Sunny Side of Heaven". I chose to cover this song on my latest CD as a tribute to Danny and to increase the awareness of his underrated talent. Thanks for reading this far. Here's a link in case you want to hear a sample:

Great to see Kirwan appreciation extends beyond the Ledge! Your article's really good--especially in your consideration of his solo work. Personally, I would have liked a bit more about Danny's songs and guitar playing on Blues in Chicago. He's pretty fierce on "Like it This Way."

Also, one quibble: I think--am not sure--the band moved into Benifolds after Kiln House was recorded...

Well thanks, but it's not my article. However I am glad that the author took the time to dig up all that info. For me it certainly adds another piece to the Kirwan puzzle.
