Ok, this is the same thing as the Bella Donna thread, except, the Wiiiiiiiiiiild Heart Tour. Were you there, tell us all about it. All aspects. Give it a grade if you so desire. Let's use this to relive history for those who either weren't able to go, or who weren't even alive. Share your experiences!! Videos and or pics are great.
Much Love,

That album was huge and she only does the 2 singles plus Beauty and the Beast. SNOOOOZE. She did Enchanted/Angel/Gold and Braid early on, but they were dropped quick.

Come on. You're just upset that she didn't do any songs from OSOTM.

I was there but honestly don't remember it except that we were in nosebleed seats and sitting there wishing Joe Walsh would hurry up and get over with!! :wavey:

I was a lot younger and a lot poorer in those days, but I still managed to scrounge up the money to see her twice on the tour. And yes, I wish Joe's sets would have been a hell of a lot shorter too. LOL. She was so gorgeous, her voice was, in my opinion, at it's peak, and her energy was unbelievable (gee, I wonder why????). Great shows, great memories, lousy seats though.

First "rock" concert I ever went to. Was a pup of 15 back then, couldn't drive, went with my art class friend who was a year older than I. Her aunt drove us to the show, dropped us off, and picked us up after (thank you again, whoever you were).
Brought my new Canon AE-1 35mm camera to the show and was told I couldn't bring it in to the Centrum. I wrapped it in my Nike windbreaker and buried it next to a tree by the mall (talk about brave and stupid..$350 dollar camera) and went back in. I didn't mind Joe Walsh too much cos I new a bunch of the songs, but I recall thinking "okay, enough's enough". Marilyn Martin was his backing singer and percussionist (she did smack the congas a bit during Life in the Fastlane), but she hadn't made the move to Stevie's band just yet.
People could smoke inside public places back in those days, and by the time Joe Walsh was finished and the house lights were on there was a huge cloud of cigarette smoke (and others kinds of smoke) that hovered below the ceiling. It's funny how all that's changed, for the best I suppose.
Anyway, Stevie came on and sounded startlingly (at the time) bronchial and hoarse and husky. After 'Dreams' she did her thank yous, and I remember thinking "oh no, she's obviously too sick to sing anymore", I thought the concert was over after only 3 songs!! It wasn't, she plowed on, playing, as the boston globe put it in their reveiw of the show, "the sacrificial lamb".
Little bits that stay in my mind: I remember her plea to go home and read fairy tales before "beauty and the beast", and I remember she wore a lot of white. I remember someone lighting fire crackers in the crowd and her making the "tsk tsk tsk" mannerism in the direction of the sound....and honestly, that's about all i remember. I like the show, loved the show, but was surprised at how husky and low her voice was (this must've been around the point of the tour when she needed more of Prince's cough syrup).
We left the show, I found the tree, re-dug the hole, and got my camera and jacket back!
Oh yeah, I swear she did Nightbird at the show, but by all accounts, I am wrong. Funny how that happens.

did she ever do Nightbird live?
it seems kindof difficult to do live....with all the overlapping vocals and all.
to the poster who mentioned OSOTM...had she even written any of those songs by the Wild Heart tour

She performed Nightbird live on Saturday Night Live and Solid Gold. Not sure she ever did specifically on the Wild Heart Tour.
On another note, some of these WH era photos are great, but you keep sneaking in Rock-A-Little photos into the mash. Tsk, tsk.

I don't see any Rock a Little ones. But just for future reference who everyone has trouble telling era's, Stevie NEVER used the square microphone on the Wild Heart tour. Only on Rumours to Mirage. And once or twice on the Rock a Little tour. She began using the black/silver mic during the Wild Heart tour and kept it till the Tango Tour. Now she uses a standard Sennheiser mic.

I really liked reading what everyone's said about the WH tour....unfortunately, I didn't get to see Stevie back than...I started collecting about 88/89 around Mirror...and I missed Mirror by that much to see her live .....I saw her with Mac in 90 for Mask....not solo til SA in '94....anyway, I so loved this LP....and from all that I heard and the photos etc....I do agree that she could've done more songs from WH on this tour....I think for like 2 shows she did do Enchanted but not Nightbird....but than Enchanted was dropped from the show ....I saw it on someone's list or some list some place? So I'd probably give the LP a A...clothes an A voice and A but like someone else said the setlist probably a C....it could've been better...probably the only song off WH I'm not too found of is I Will Run To You with Tom....it's ok but it's not SDMHA....and with All The Beautiful Worlds song....it could've been on WH....or something else......anyway, just some thoughts that's all.....thanks for all the pics.........

Unfortunately...I wasn't even born when The Wild Heart was released. But it is my second favorite Stevie album (Rock A Little being my first). It is just so lush and beautiful....the vocals...the lyrics....everything. I really love her voice on the album and the few live clips I have seen. The videos on youtube are amazing...the "Nightbird" performance from Solid Gold was one of the first videos I saw of Stevie. Thanks to everyone for sharing their stories.:)

Come on. You're just upset that she didn't do any songs from OSOTM.
Honestly though, 3 songs from an album that was a huge success?? Not cool Stevie!

I was there but honestly don't remember it except that we were in nosebleed seats and sitting there wishing Joe Walsh would hurry up and get over with!! :wavey:
Same with me~~~ I wish I could remember more. My most vivid memory is Joe Walsh carrying Stevie out to the stage and my Mom making a comment about it.

I grew up in Mass. I saw a lot of concerts at the Centrum! (Is it still called that?). Didn't see Stevie on that tour, but saw her there on the Rock a Little tour (horrible show!), as well as Fleetwood Mac on their Mirage tour (awesome show!). Saw both Stevie and Fleetwood Mac several times at Great Woods (at least that was what it was called at the time).

The Centrum is actually the DCU Center now...it's still the same venue just Green and White now.
