View Full Version : Stevie sure brings out the crazies!

Well, I'm certainly not going to post a link or anything, but the old (and virtually dead) Stevie group on UseNet sure brings out the lunatic fringe. The most recent post there is an asinine, lurid story by some sick **** with a diahrrea fetish. No, really.

Can anyone explain why Stevie brings out such a disproportionate number of crazies? Bill Gamelson, the guy who wanted to kidnap her and force her to cure his homosexuality, the crazed fan who raped that impersonator, diahrrea fetishists, the guy who did dozens of nude portraits of her, ebay members selling her snot rags, the religious fundamentalists who tried to ban her music, ex-fans fantasizing about gagging and raping Stevie for releasing songs they didn't like... are there any other female singers out there with a concert security watch list longer than Stevie's?

I think its because, they're so far in their "own little world" that the "little world" that Stevie creates around herself is really appealing to them. I think they feel like "she's the leader of their pack."

I don't know if that makes any sense. I'm sleepy.

Maybe someone can turn what I'm saying into something more understandable.

Stevie's unique and ethereal image and persona seem to attract quite an array of fans, from the exquisitely eccentric, to the obsessive loons, as well as "regular Joes"...she can just touch so many people with her music and her, well, Magick.

I think that's about right. I think also the psychologists would also say that she reminds them of their mothers. Literally, for real. Stevie kinda plays certain "games," i.m.o., with her sensuality, her attractiveness and so on and also plays the "motherly" card at the same time. Unfortunately some people don't get that it's just a game, and is just for fun or at most a "teaching tool" that she uses along with her music, or more cynically, a way to rake in some major buckage.
I think maybe some of them also get the impression that she's some kind of "Angel," and then when they find out that uhmmm . . . she's kinda human and uhhh - not an angel . . . they get angry. Seems to me those kinds of people tend to be very judgmental and moralistic and they go on either a "she's going to hell" spree or a "I'm going to save her" spree. With the crazies, it seems to me that the second usually turns into the first.

I doubt they let him near the stage but how could they possibly prevent him from getting into a concert venue? Unless she has a restraining order against the guy, he is allowed to come to her shows. No one knows if she really has a Protection Order or not, so........

k so, not to be grim but I can try to answer this. I don't know what's actually true, and what's not true, but here's a summary of some of the things people have claimed, as well as some things I've seen personally myself.

1.) Chris Nicks once described him as a "Dutch-boy Danny Bonaducci (sic)" who follows Stevie from city to city
throughout the tours trying to get to meet Stevie after every show." He also has supposedly once said to him flat--out, "Stay away from my sister!" The general idea is that it was said in a way that's pretty hard to misinterpret how he feels about it.

2.) When Mr. Nicks died, he posted in a google discussion group that "JESS NICKS IS BURNING IN HELL! ! ! ! !
I hope there's lots of ice there! This was posted on New Year's eve - that night, when "everyone else" was celebrating and having fun with friends and family - or at least with casual acquaintances. He's something like 43 or 45 years old.

3.) Before the current tour began, he threatened (online) to bring a gun to one of the concerts - front row - and shoot himself right in front of Stevie. "Taking out as many people as he can" at the same time.

4.) One thing that REALLY bothered me personally is that he once created a "religious" website that used a drawing of Stevie as an "Angel" in order to try to solicit money. Think about what he really did - It seems to me that Stevie has made quite clear that she doesn't want to endorse any one specific religion. Her Image also has a dollar value to it - a significant one. He's 45 or so and he is NOT stupid. This isn't a case of not knowing better, he just didn't care; and he COMPLETELY disregarded the feelings and personal philosophy of someone he supposedly "loves." In order to raise money.

5.) His behavior has changed over time. He initially, I believe, started acting as if he "loves" Stevie and her music. Then he found out that she has (allegedly) done this that and the other thing. Especially that other thing - yeah. And he fairly quickly, it seems, became extremely judgmental of her and angry towards her. Ranting about how she's "going to hell" etc. These issues, while he's free to have opinions on them and maybe even to express them, deal with private things which are none of his business. For him to FOCUS on them and yes OBSESS over them, at his age, is very troubling.

6.) People have said he's really just an "attention whore." Well, granted he has other interests such as politics, and there's apparently been trouble in those discussion groups as well. But Stevie is the only celebrity he focuses on. He has indicated very clearly that his unrequited feelings towards Stevie have turned from "love" to wanting to "Save" her to anger and hate. That's a time to sit up and take notice.

7.) Granted he seems to have sort of "deflected" most of this anger towards fans of Stevie on the Internet. And he loses interest for long periods of time. But he "always comes back," and it's always Stevie he's focusing on, not any other celebrity. Stevie is perceived as being "inaccessible" and that seems to only stoke the fires for him. He's been asked to stop repeatedly and yet he doesn't; or he'll stop for awhile (maybe until "the heat's off) and then starts again.

8.) He once came into the Nicksfix chat room and started talking with another person there about "how to take out Stevie's security guards" in order to get to Stevie. He's not small and he gives the impression that he's physically strong. Granted he would have been in for one HELL of a surprise, it still seems worthy of some notice.

9.) Even when he's repeatedly asked to stop by people in the fan community - and, I believe, also asked to stop by "Stevie's People," he continues. In other words, "You MUST stop this; you're scaring Stevie and making her EXTREMELY uncomfortable" has no long-term effect on his behavior. I don't know that for an absolute, 100% certifiable fact - but he sure as hell gives that impression.

10.) http://www.nicksfix.com/billgamelson2.jpg

It seems to me as though someone asked a question and this member simply gave an answer...

Are you following some of the newer members around for the sole purpose of making them feel uncomfortable here?

Is there any way to prove that all this stuff is actually
him? In my experience on the Internet, many people have the knowledge
to impersonate those people they hate, and pretend to be them,
using their names, etc. What is to stop "Joe" from calling himself
"Jack" because he hates Jack, and posting all over the internet
as "Jack", on boards, etc?
I tend not to believe everything I read or hear about online.
How does anyone really know anything? It is rather discerning.

why are you always first on the scene when someone brings up BG? .

Because of the time he came into Nicksfix chat and tried to sell Stevie's underwear in there, making several suggestions about what could be done with it while there were minors in the room; because of the times he made suggestive comments to minors in the same chat room; and because of how mean he's been to my friends and to Stevie. And because, as stated above, there's been a feeling that his threatening behavior towards Stevie, the same threatening behavior which people in the past have made towards celebrities who are now dead, is not taken seriously enough. He's been banned from every single Fleewood Mac chat room and Forum he can get his hands on (including this one) and there's reasons for it.

The other reason I'm so concerned about this is that, as others have stated, Chris Nicks is apparently very concerned about his behavior, and very annoyed at him. In my opinion, that's a pretty good indication that there's reason for concern, and that as many people as possible should know about his inappropriate behavior.

As stated above, someone asked a question and I answered it as best as I could. I think it's important that as many people know about this guy as possible. Threatening to kill himself in front of Stevie during the Edge walk made that very clear.

Uhm, I do still feel that he's not taken seriously enough, but there's been some people that have suspected that they actually know exactly what they're doing. I don't want to say more since it's a public Forum, ifya get my drift. I think you can probably figure it out though.

By the way - think about this - there's THOUSANDS of people on these forums. Bill Gamelson is one of only two people - that I'm aware of at least - that uses their real name instead of a nickname. i.m.o. that shows something right there. There's safety reasons why people use nicknames and this guy is not naive or anything like that. i.m.o. it's an indication that something's different in his thinking. It automatically occurs to thousands upon thousands of people to use a nickname, without even having to be told. But not this guy. Right from the get-go, something is different about the way he thinks.

One thing about Bill I always say is that he chose the absolute worst tour to camp-follow. He used to tell us what it was like seeing every show on the Timespace tour, & I always thought that was amusingly indicative of the Man Who Is Gamelson.

Actually, hearing the whole thing about the '91 tour might have been what first made me start referring to him as Swill. But enough of this. He's not around, & I hate to deride an absentee.

As stated above, someone asked a question and I answered it as best as I could. I think it's important that as many people know about this guy as possible. Threatening to kill himself in front of Stevie during the Edge walk made that very clear.

Yes, you did :)
By the way, what is the point of someone threatening to kill themselves
in front of Stevie? To scar her for life, or make her never want to perform again, or ?
Whoever would do that really needs SERIOUS help.
I wonder why someone would hate her that much.
The world is too full of LOONS.
That is why I prefer my kitties.

Absolutely!
Even less than famous people have stalkers and obsessos after them, look at all the ex husbands and ex boyfriends who stalk and kill their exs when they get new boyfriends, etc. People obsess on other people for the oddest reasons, and don't let go. It is a million times worse when you are "famous" I would think.
I don't see how some of the celebs put up with all that crap. UGH.

They can throw anyone got they want - ditto for refusing admission. A ticket is a revokable license, that is all. Of course, they'd have to catch him amongst the thousands entering.

Very interesting. I did see a guy get thrown out of the AC show after Stevie spotted him. He was drunk but she saw him as soon as she walked onstage. Five minutes later, he was pulled out of the middle of the row and tossed.
Question..if they revoke your license, do they have to refund your money? I do know that Bill Gamelson still goes to her shows. They don't seem to revoke his ticket?

Crazy Bill Gamelson got all nutty on me and Mike Bise on the old AOL boards, back in the day. He said something like "oh what are you going to do, hit me with your handbags?" or some other unfunny nonsense like that- and obviously a reference to mine and Mike's sexual orientation. He always seemed to vanish from AOl or Usenet for months on end, and then reappear and stir up trouble and then start playing victim saying no one likes him, else leave in a major huff and announce he's never posting again. But he always came back for more. Couple of questions though:

1. He was the Stevie-can-cure-my-homosexuality stalker? Do we really know that for sure or did someone just associate two nut-jobs with each other?

2. Blue Denim- yes he did indeed claim that Stevie wrote that song for him. He also used to claim he had regular contact with Barbara Nicks.

3. Not to start a flame-war-riot- but, didn't he and Timeless Barbara used to be friends?? I thought he claimed that he was, and that you were social together in real-life, that you were part of his wacko 'Christian' cult that he started or whatever.

4. Welcome (back) To The Room...David
