Is with Stevie's voice in this clip:

Key word "baby."

blech. i hate the way she says baby in that song. it always sounds like that, even in the original. very goat-y. maaaaahh.

I can't explain it, she sounds like she went all Jana on us and screeched it. Not pretty.

I hope that was an off performance because if I ever see Stevie live with the Mac and the singing is like that I'll be quite disappointed because I'm pretty sure she can do better.

I don't really see any problem with this vocal...I mean, it's not horrible. as for the "baby" parts...typically, it's difficult to sing words like baby...the "a" makes it difficult so it takes a lot of control to hit the note and make it sound good. there's not as much air used to pronounce it so it's harder to get it right.

I don't really see any problem with this vocal...I mean, it's not horrible.

come on jaz. it's spunkless drizzle. booooooring

she can do a lot better.

Shouldn't this be on the Stevie board?
I've found every performance of Edge boring since the Street Angel tour when she had the funky drums on it and she actually sang the "Ooh, baby Ooh, Said Oooh" bits. The HBO special is THE version of this song.

I completely disagree. I'd have to say the SA or RAL version of this song are the best. I think this song is better when her voice was more intense.

agreed. RAL takes the cake, imo.
