I was so looking forward to her making #1...there's still a chance though. Maroon 5 dropped big time...Stranger is an ok remix, but I can't stand that Whine song...maybe Stevie will sneak in and steal the #1 spot. would she then be the oldest artist to have a #1 on the Dance charts, beating Cher?

that Stevie was older than Cher was when Planets hit #1. Wasnt Cher's #1 dance song Believe?

OK - I did some geeky research.
Planets was # 1 on 8/11/01 - when Stevie was 53.
Cher had three #1's on the dance chart after Believe, the most recent being a song called "When The Money's Gone" which was #1 on 4/05/03. Cher was born 5/20/46, so this song was #1 when Cher was 56 - beats Stevie by 3 years.

Wow, had Stand Back hit #1 this coming week, it would have been exactly 6 years to the date since Planets topped this chart.
