The first song that comes to mind for me is the "new" Indigo Girls song, Pendulum Swinger. I ****ing hate that song, and they play it constantly at my old job (which I just left today WOO HOO). I don't have a problem with the message of the song.. I just hate the song itself. The way they say "gunnnnSLINGaaarrrrzzzz" is so stupid and annoying. BLAH.

Hmm, hell....

"Raindrops keep fallin' on my head" - Burt Bacharach

"Pretty fly for a white guy" Offspring...or anything by that talentless mass of turds.

"Said I loved you but I lied" - Michael Bolton

"Stay" - Lisa Loeb

"Stairway to Heaven" - Led Zeppelin. Yeah, I said it. I can't understand how I can love a band that much yet completely loathe their most famous song. Anytime I hear the opening guitar notes I'm inexplicably filled with rage.

"I'm Blue" - Eiffel 72 or whatever # it was.

tori. it's excessive bone that grows on the palate and/or down on the bottom along the inside of the mandible. it's usually caused by grinding your teeth, which causes the areas to grow. Kinda like working out and your muscles getting bigger :laugh:

I LOVE the 80's...but in hell it'd be all those songs of the 80's that repulse you. It's like how could so much fun come from those days yet results also yielded SUCH CRAP. For example:
Walking on Sunshine...duly noted earlier. My hat is off to you.
Talking in Your Sleep by the Romantics. I know the words and that Ledgies is my own private hell.
Cherry Pie technically 90's right, but yuck just the same.
All things Miami Vice...specially the tunes
Sorta the horrid picture of purgetory.

Wow. I loved 'Have You Never Been Mellow' by Olivia. Apparently, she's quite the cult figure among gay women. There's even a record label dedicated soley to womyn's music called 'Olivia'.

And Anne Murray's voice moves me. Next time I head up to Toronto, I was thinking of trying to catch her show as she plays regularly there. I think she has her own theater (like Celine does, in Vegas).

But, I see your Olivia and Anne, and raise you one 'We Belong' by Pat Benatar or any other pop song with a children's chorus!

There are musicians who cater to a purgatory audience, and the musical style they play is called death metal. If that's really music is debatable, but at least it evolved from out of a musical tradition.
Anyway, but that's only for those who believe in it, anyway, besides not adding unliked tunes to the list. :woohoo:

JAZZ!

Three hours at the dentist's office on a Friday afternoon and nothing but JAZZ! Painful...in every sense of the word...

Betsy….Betsy ………Betsy:mad: I only caught up with your post last night:laugh:

I love jazz!

Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Shirley Horn, Miles Davis, Oscar Peterson, Charlie Parker, Chet Baker, Cassandra Wilson. What on earth was playing for you to hate it so much?

I think that sometimes jazz presents a similar problem to classical music in that it is difficult to know what to listen to first. It is easy to be put off for years if you hear poor music.

I put a few of my favourites and some jazz tracks that I thought were more accessible on a cd for my g/f. She really likes playing this in the car and isn’t a big jazz fan. Give these a try – I’m sure you’ll like a few of them. The two Neil Young covers in particular are very good, I think.

Louis Armstrong – We have all the time in the world
Bobby Womack – California Dreaming

Claire Teal – What a difference a day makes
Peter Cincotti – Up on the roof

~ Rap and Hip Hop
~ County and Bluegrass
~ Dixieland Jazz
~ Elvis

~ Steely Dan
~ Song from the 70s called "Afternoon Delight" (was popular at the same time as Rumours)...pure torture.

I'm sure there are many more hidden away in the torture chamber of my mind.

Oh, and here's another gem that I have the misfortune of being reminded of continually due to my step-father's (thank God we don't share the same genetics) fondness for this hideous creation: :mad:

:) Well burn it to cd and give it a try. I reckon you'll like some of it - but still let me know even if you hate it:laugh:. I mislabelled the Gwyneth Herbert track on the file but it is a cover of Neil Young's 'Only Love Can Break Your Heart'.

No I'm not soaking up the rays:). I started work on Tuesday in Chicago as a civil engineer on the Skyway. It is quite a contrast to what I was doing. The weather is definitely a shock to my system - but you'll be used to the cold.

I have to admit that I have listened to a few of the tracks and they aren't horrible. At the dentists office, there were no vocals....just jazz music that went on and on and on...like Titanic... tin-sounding trumpets with no real drum stick hits, just so many brush-like sounds hitting the drum head, then some squealing instruments.....

Add to it that I wasn't in the best of moods ~ and one has 50% of the dislike.

You might be able to change my mind...I will leave it open.

As for the Windy City (Chicago) being your kind of town (for now)....does this mean, that we won't be seeing any more "Show Yo Mug" shots of you on a beach, and we will be getting some "winter shots"

.... just asking for the "Stew Mathews" calendar I am putting together. I need some winter additions. ;)

One more quick...what was the Bruce Springsteen website you pointed me to, where they had the demos posted? I can't find that thread anymore. Or was it someone other than Springsteen....the mind is a terrible thing to waste....and alcohol kills brain cells....:D

The drive to work was a little hectic today...lots of roadrage due to multiple cone zones and three lanes emptying into one ....

So, the *hell* was the drive...then...my Cd player went south...(RATS!) ...after spitting all 5 Cd's at me while I am driving and trying to catch them before they fell under my feet.

The default radio station was a country station.

I heard this song that wasn't all that bad...and I was wondering if anybody knows the name of a song that was playing.

It's about a guy who is talking to himself, and says "If I could write a letter to myself..." and then he says he would give it to himself at 17. It was kind of interesting...he gives himself advice on breaking up with that special girl and other things that teenagers worry about. (I'd like to get a copy of it for my 17 year old son...the kid who paid for dinner and then got ditched...)

Anybody know the name of that song or know what I am talking about?

That's it! That's it! That's it!

~~~~~ Thank you! ~~~~~
I kinda liked that radio station. I might start listening to country more often.
Anyone got any song suggestions?
Madonna Ft. Justin & Timbaland - 4 Minutes to Save the World.mp3
Download link: http://www.mediafire.com/?mcgjamtxb52
Must every artist finally succumb to the gutter? Madonna is following Nelly Furtado's lead and has collaborated with Timbaland and Justin Timberlake. It's the end of the world.
4 Minutes to Save the World - the first single from her forthcoming album Hard Candy (April 29 release date) is just another track that features Timbaland stuttering in the background like a retard and Justin Timberfake augmenting the chorus with his shrill yelping.
Radio programmers who accepted delivery of the track were required to sign an embargo agreement preventing airplay until Madonna says so. A French radio station leaked the track on Saturday, which effectively gave birth to a crappy, low quality bootleg rip that features 45 seconds of Frenchie babble at the beginning and during the track. Well, I'm not French, so here is nice, clean version.
Anything by Journey without Steve Perry as the lead singer. :wavey: :laugh:
And I actually like The Carpenters, but 24/7 would get to be a bit of a drag sometimes. :shocked:
Also playing - The theme from Titanic, 27 times a day.
