I'm lucky to have been to 47 states. Only ones I haven't been to are North and South Dakota and Kentucky. Work and conferences took me to most of the states but my Dad was big on loading up the motorhome and dragging us all over the country when we were younger.

My goal is to eventually see all 50 states...since all but 3 states are ones I've visited after turning 24, I think I'm off to a good start...I'd love to go to Oregon next...

If there was a way my Dad would have taken his motorhome over there. He did load it up on a cruise ship that sailed to Alaska and dropped people off with their motorhomes to drive the Alaska Highway. It always amazes me that more people don't see the good ole USA. Some of my best memories are of the family driving to places I would never have thought of visiting.

Alcohol at work... hmmm.. is that why all NPR reporters sound so smoooooooth :D

We didn't travel much at all growing up, mostly just stayed in-state, but we also lived only 30 minutes from Texas, so we went a few places there...and then there was the California vacation of my youth...

Other than that I've done all my traveling on my own, either for fun or work - either way I LOVE seeing new places. I know people who've never been out of where they were born and raised....and I think that if one doesn't travel it really boxes them in...travel is such an amazing way to expand one's mind and horizons

And yeah...alcohol...I can tell stories of my time at NPR...including one abouta Friday roof-top keg party...man I miss that place

Dude. pee ain't got nothing on Greeley. This place smells like a **** box. Cattle. LOTS of cattle surround it - and so it seriously smells like **** most of the time...in fact the first five minutes of Lily Tomlin's act was about the smell here

So once in a while pee would be refreshing, we just have the **** smell.

Yeah? So you know...it's pretty sick. Some days are better than others...but overall? I'm not getting used to it as people said I would...

Though I do love that the smell goes away when it rains, and it smells beautiful....living in Rochester and DC, it rained and yes, it smelled like Urine. I don't miss that.

Sigh. My goal is to one day live somewhere that does not smell like undesirable bodily ejections.

Great Britain is a more formal name for England, which is really just part of the United Kingdom. The United Kingdom actually comprises Scotland, Northern Ireland, England and Wales. :wavey:

Great Britain is the name for the island which includes England, Scotland and Wales. Great Britain is also, confusingly, an alternative name for the United Kingdom :)

Apropos to nothing but this, a pal of mine volunteered to do some genealogical research for me this weekend.

It turns out both my paternal grandfather's parents were born in Kentucky.
