This character is just too funny! My son got the movie Cars and since I dont go to the movies, I find out about stuff months later than everyone else.

I must say, if Mater wasnt in this movie, I wouldnt have liked it as much

Haha...My nephew loved Cars...I still haven't seen it, as I don't see kid movies unless I'm with him. He doesn't get that so when he talks to me it's always, "have you seen Cars?" "Have you seen Happy Feet?" :laugh: Noooo....

Cars looks really cute though - and this thread reminds me that my nephew was supposed to show me cars over Christmas but we never got around to it :mad:

Oh I know...Mater makes that movie...I went with my 6 year old niece and I think i enjoyed it more than her:lol:

my son loves the movie & mater especially, we got him a few of the playsets w/ all the cars from the movie for christmas & he wears mater slippers every evening:lol: ~ i think the character is adorable!!!~

You really ought to watch more of them, they're really some of the best comedies out there. Have you seen "Over the Hedge"? As much as I loved "Cars," I really liked OTH better. On one hand, you have a heartwarming tale about a wayward raccoon who finds a family to welcome him, and on the other you have a satire on how absurd and food obsessed our suburban culture really is.

You do have to be choosey about which animated films you see, however, as there are some out there that are just painfully bad. "Chicken Little," for example, was a huge disappointment.

As to the topic of "Offbeat Favs," was I the only one who liked Edna Mode the best in The Incredibles? And then, of course, there's Templeton from the classic "Charlotte's Web" (not the live-action remake).

I may no absolutely nothing about films, but I know this - Cars is one of the best kids movies I have ever seen :thumbsup:
