Yep - the need to eat to satisfy the oral fixation caused by smoking is WAY difficult to overcome and chewing gum just does not do it LOL.

I am pretty good with the smoking though. I usually do not booze it up during the week and without the booze, I won't smoke.

sara1998
01-04-2007, 09:55 AM
That's exactly what started it! My friend came in from Arizona back in May, bought mixers for Lemondrop Martini's, and we drank and smoked all week long! Not to mention the nerve wrecking trip to Disney that soon followed! Thus, I started back up. :distress: I gained something like 20 lbs when I quit though, and I've lost more then that since. So it's a trade off... haha.

Good - good records, copious amounts of concerts, meeting some of my favorite bands, meeting amazing people in general, getting a gorgeous arctic white Telecaster, taking on drawing as a new passion, cute dresses, new iPod (Nico!), one of my best friends giving me her old camera, being labeled a pretentious hipster jerk (because it's true, maybe?) making people realize that it is indeed very chic and hip to shop at thrift stores, wearing wigs even though I don't really need to.

Bad - my grandfather getting really sick, our cat Lola ran away, a terrible haircut, being sick pretty much all year, not having the balls to tell a guy that I liked him back, pretty much losing my hearing, Marketing class, PE class, scene kids, still not having a band, having to deal with stuck-up cockrock guitarists who only want to play Van Halen or Fall Out Boy covers, no one turning up at shows I helped immensely with promoting, corporate bull****.

Having a loving wife who is still cancer-free

Having a good "Wrongful death" lawsuit lawyer

Rediscovered my true metal roots in music

Having a family who are the only people on earth who understand me

Not being dead...

Bad: Having 180+ channels of nothing to watch now instead of the former 40 channels of nothing

Having to hear about OU & Dallas Cowboys daily

Living in the Bible Belt

Medical bills out the yin-yang

Still being alive...

And is it OK to like My Chemical Romance? Or no? Cuz if it's not cool, I'll stop. :o

MCR is not cool, Paula. Well, I don't think they are...

My step-daughter is always making fun of the scene kids in her school.

As taken from UrbanDictionary.com..... I'm trying to understand all this **** myself!

Stylish man or woman, deriving from an "Emo Kid".
But unlike "Emo Kids" Scene Kids normally wear the complimentary colors or they do go with a smiliar style to the Emo fashion.
Scene kids are not "gay" as some people claim.
It is a style, not a oreintation.
They normally wear scarves, or bandanas in their back pocket.
They also have a very technical hairstyle with two or more different colors.
Sometimes, they are more morbid then "Emo Kids" but normally they are "brighter".
Scene kids are sometimes self-absorbed.
But that does not mean they all are.
Scene kids are also known as, Fashion Kids.

Scene Kids are not gay just anti-mainstream

I actually don't like popular music anymore, period. Nothing on mainstream radio (or rather any myspace-oriented bands) impresses me. I love alternative and indie, but none of the mainstream stuff.

I'm a snob. I can't help it.

I still don't get the scene kid thing - there are people running around with scarves in their back pockets? I haven't noticed that. Great, now I'll be looking at everyones' asses to see if there's a scarf in their pocket.
