Was browsing Daniels Stevie site, and he has "on this day" posted. This night 19 years ago, I was at my first Fleetwood Mac concert. Actually my first concert ever. Although that's really cool to think about and put in perspective, I am also feeling like I should ask a youngen on the board to get me my walker! Holy COW! Actually, the REALLY crappy thing is that I am unsure if I was there the 13th or 14th. Am leaning toward 13th. I'd give my 2 front teeth to have my ticket stub from that night, and any journal entry (though unlikely around those days) that may shed light on exact date, as gone as my memory. haha. I was sure that on one of those nights LB had shown up, but another board got me thinking differntly that he only showed up during a BTM date. I am POSITIVE still that he did, and if that was on one of 2 nights only, then that narrows it down. Pathetic huh that my meory is so clouded? I wasn't even drinking back then. haha. But wow, almost 20 years ago. S'cuse me while I go reposition my dentures and check my diappy.

Doesn't it stink getting old??? :( And I'm older than you are so stop it already!!! ha ha But seriously--it does stink because my first Mac concert was for the Mirage tour--do you think I remember a thing about that show??? NOT!! And I don't remember a thing about the Wild Heart show I attended either except that Joe Walsh opened-----crappy I know :( I do remember having nose bleed seats for both though  And I think Men at Work opened for the Mac on the Mirage tour!! LMAO!! You are lucky that you can say your first concert was the Mac!! My first concert was Journey with Pat Benatar and Eddie Money opening...... not that that is a bad thing but I would rather have had it be the Mac--and if my big brother would have been NICE and taken me to the Tusk show that he went to........ well that is another story. I cried that night when he went and wouldn't take me--he did buy me a shirt though--I guess that is something.......

My first show ever was June 13 1980 fo the Tusk tour, I guess that makes me antique :D
I wanted to go the show in '77 but my Mom thought I was too young (14) to go by myself and when she finally agreed to come with me, they were sold out :(

I cant remember when my first concert was, I know I saw shows in clubs/bingo halls/armories when my Dad was alive (pre-1977) and the first major show I saw on my own was in 1985-.38 Special & Ted Nugent

I do feel ancient, and I see the light at the end of the tunnel...That light has the big 4-0 on it (In a few years).

Funny thing is that I still own almost all the ticket stubs from all the shows I've seen (Just missing 2 ticket stubs which I misplaced in our junk when we moved here in 1992).

My close friends, I havent seen in years, still know and asked of my attendances at concert...Ol' habits never die.

Jeesh Amy, all this time and I didn't realize you went that way back. haha. Maybe you've told me and I just....wait, what were we talking about?? The truth is, not having memories of such amazing things sux, but atleast we were all there. And atleast you started concert going young, and still going strong. And E4L, seeing things from so far back...well that just reconfirms your cool status. :wavey:

My first Fleetwood Mac concert was December 9 1979 .27 years ago! I was still in high school. There are things that make me feel really old and of another century these days though like cell phones and Tower records closing down forever this year. Also maybe it's just me but people seem more isolated and disconnected now than when I was kid and being a gay man I just lost alot of people way earlier than it seems I should have so that makes you feel really old too.Like an octagenarian that has outlived their time.

I had 10th row to the August 17th, 1980 Tusk show in San Antonio. My best friend (at the time) and I were both 15 and were totally in awe. I will never forget the bright lights on the audience as Stevie wailed during Sisters Of The Moon. A moment permanently etched into my brain.
Old? Sure. But a ton of great shows and memories under my belt... :wavey:

My first concert ever was either Sean Cassidy or Andy Gibb (I went to both, just can't remember which one came first). So, I don't even want to hear anyone else talking about feeling old!

My first Stevie concert was RAL at Jones Beach. The only things I remember are: She went backstage a LOT and also, I had never seen the Edge Walk before- we had nosebleeds (of course) and couldn't believe Stevie was touching people! Oh, and her speech before HAEWAFY was very touching and sweet.

I was 14 then.... or close to 15, that summer.
Wow. loooooooooooooooong time ago.

I was all of 12 and my big brother got us tickets... third row in front of Lindsey. I was in the heigth of my glory seeing Fleetwood Mac LIVE!
It just didn't get any better than that.
I used to listen to Rumours and their White Album adnauseum and even today pretty much know them note for note.

My first concert was in the Summer of 75, in Diamond Head Crater in Hawaii. I saw Canned Heat and Sunday Manoa. I dont remember who else. The rumour was that we were supposed to see Fleetwood Mac but they cancelled. I took a peek over on the Legboard and I see that they DID play Diamond Head on Dec 31st and Jan 1st. Apparently the rumour mill was not functioning properly when I was there :distress:

omigod. My first concert was Sean Cassidy, in Columbia SC around 1978. I never usually admit that though! I don't even really remember it. I was like 10 years old or something. It was actually several years later when I went to my first "real" concert - INXS around 1987 or 88. That's the concert I normally say was my first!

First FM wasn't until 1997. :(

This night 19 years ago, I was at my first Fleetwood Mac concert.

I was at that show also. Both of them. Didn't Stevie sing Silent Night, or am I delusional? I don't recall Lindsey being at either of them, but he was at one of the BTM shows in Oakland.

It's weird, but I remember the oldest shows more than the recent ones. My first Fleetwood Mac concert was also on the Mirage tour, at the Centrum in Worcester, MA. It's still seared in my brain. Men At Work did open for them!
The show was sold out and they were fantastic. The audience went crazy for them. And the set list was pretty good. I still have my ticket stub. Unfortunately, I let a friend borrow the tour T-shirt I bought (no tour books:( ), and she eventually lost it.

I'm grateful I got to see them --just the five of them -- without 8 other musicians.

FM wasnt actually on my 'concert list' of bands to see back in the 80's-90's (I would have seen 'em in 1997 had they played OKC).

Back in the 70's I was still a punk kid who had no way to see em unless my oldest brother was able to take me along (Up until the July 1,2003 show, The last time FM played Oklahoma to my knowledge was OKC in 1980. The rumor I heard was that the 1982 show in OKC was cancelled due to a riot breaking out pre-show, but I never been able to verify if that did occur.)
