There are "no" straight men on here (a few), and only a few lesbians, so there probably aren't many literal crushes. Many of us think she is gorgeous, and love her music, but as far as crushes go, perhaps not much to talk about there.

I am not picking on you by any means but I was just wondering why it is that if you are a guy and love Stevie you must be gay???? I absolutely adore Stevie, and as I am sure you all know, I am as straight as they come..... I just don;t understand....
Much Love,

You don't "must be" gay, that is just how it works out a lot. There happen to be many more gay guys on this board who love Stevie than straight ones.

Sigh...and this thread was headed so nicely to the bottom. Now we've got a bad poll and Ethan's need to assert his heterosexuality.
Edit: I voted "used to" 'cuz my crush ended Friday night when Stevie winked at Neal during IAF instead of me.

Maybe I can take all my random posts and tape them all together to form a proper review.
To explain this one:
Stevie winked to someone in the audience during IAF. Neal (from Ledge) insists that she winked at him. I guess Deborah/Goldenbraid (who was next to Neal) is claiming it also.
Maybe someone should ask Stevie through the "Ask Stevie" section on Nicksfix who she was winking at. The answer would be
~Yes

No, I'm sure she's right - Is she or is she not the only one here who can claim to have kissed Stevie? Hmmm? Yep. In fact, Deborah is the reason why Stevie says "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas".

As a straight women, I guess I've always had a "girl crush" on the early FM to 1983 Stevie because I'm totally in lust/love with her ex-boyfriend who was haunted by her for more than a decade. Stevie has that perfect, fresh adorableness that I so admired and wish I had, and I would have taken all the drama and angst of a Lindsey B. totally psyching out and being jealous over my freedom. I'm a masochistic romantic that way. I would love to be in those platform boots, top hat and chiffon singing next to Buckingham, while he sang about "Shacking up, packing up is all you wanna do" - while those blue eyes burned into the back of my head while I sang to my adoring fans. Just the fact that this gorgeous, talented, insane man was pineing for me and all that petite cuteness must contribute to that admiration for her. There was an exquisite torture about those two.
And I just love her style from that period as well. In fact, her style has set the foundation of my personal style throughout the years...whether in clothes or interior design.

Ethan, since you asked, the "if you love Stevie then you must be gay" stereotype is often true.
Another Ledgie and I used to post about our Stevie obsessions and crushes a mere two years ago, when we were both sixteen. Stevie was, like, OMG the ideal woman for us and so sexy. We absolutely adored her. My comrade even crafted a silly picture of him and Stevie kissing in Photoshop.
Within six months, we were both openly gay on these forums. Now we're both pretty content with our "delicious homo-ness" at the ripe old age of eighteen. I honestly doubt people were shocked that the two teenage guys enchanted by Stevie's voice, romantic lyrics and image were gay.
For the record, I didn't make that pic, Mikki did. ;)
But if I were straight, I would TOTALLY go for Stevie. And also for the record, I was a Mac fan way before I discovered the whole gay thing. ;)

Straight male Stevie fanboys are a rare breed.
Although I agree with what you are saying, I have to say that I know a few straight Stevie fans - my brother being one of them...

What seems to be left off here is the fact that in the 70s and 80s Stevie was a major hot sex symbol. I know MANY straight men who adore her and her music
And actually not one of my gay male friends are into Stevie at all...

Other than that the men I refer to aren't really online -but in the 70s and 80s boy oh boy they say nothing was hotter than Stevie Nicks...so I think she also has a lot of straight male fans

Those tend to be the people who just like looking at her, or casual Fleetwood Mac fans. I think it would be pretty rare to find a straight guy that is a fan of her clothes and candles and poetry and all that. And even liking her solo music is different from being a big fan of the total Stevie Nicks package.

Though I agree that Stevie's fan base includes a large contingency of gay men, I don't think she's ever been considered to be a "gay diva," which is kind of curious!
I have dozens of gay male friends, and absolutely none of them have any use for Stevie. They listen to (crappy, in my opinion) disposible dance/tech music and contemporary singers of the moment. :distress:
