It's just a game...that...we...play
Someone steals it...

Someone...steals it away
Scares you to death...~

eh, not so good. I kind of like the lyrics, though. But the song itself is pretty subpar.

^^^ I feel completely the opposite. Some of the lyrics are ridiculous, but the melody is amazing. A song I love to sing along to :)

Yes Yes Yes it is the melody that I LOVE, aswell as the very very very catchy chorus

It's kind of a forgotten track, but I enjoy it. I like the the vocal throughout, especially in the outro.

"Do IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII love you" :woohoo:

Yeah? I only really like the "so to the red rose, grows the passion" part. The melody does nothing for me. Most of the WH album does nothing for me, except serve as a way to knock me out before bedtime.

 I HAVE heard alot of people say WH is boring. And to be honest, I did not like the album when I first got it - it took me a good six months to finally realise it's majesty. It sort of just clicked...

The "Do I love you?" parts at the end make the song for me. It's gorgeus and I love it.

Hate it.
It's about nothing and it never really goes anywhere.
I still remember the first time I heard it thinking "WTF?"

Actually, if you listen carefully to the words it pretty much parallels the story of Beauty and the Beast. The garden was gaurded by the beast. Beauty's father picked the red rose for her. In the story, the Beast repeatedly asked Beauty "Do you love me?" to which she always answered no, until the end. "Do I love you"?

Well I mean, G and G Is a very good song, but it isn't really, in my opinion, on of her elite, but it is very good none the less.....

Much Love,
Ethan

You must not be that familiar with the fairy tale. The lyrics fit very well within it's context.

 Wow. That's a stretch. Admit it, you're really Stevie. Or at the very least you're on Klonopin.

Nah, a stretch would be that Sable on Blonde is about Rhiannon. Which in a way the two are connected. In Sable on Blonde there is the line that goes "In silence she says 'Excalibur'". If you are familiar with Arthurian legend you'll know that Vivian or "The Lady in the Lake" who was the keeper of Excalibur translates from older legend as none other than Rhiannon. I'm not saying that I... I mean Stevie;) consciously wrote Gate and Garden about Beauty and the Beast, but since Stevie has been known to "borrow" directly from authors and we know that Beauty and the Beast is her favorite story, and given the similarity between the lyrics and text from the story, it isn't a stretch at all to think that she would be inspired by it.

Well, there are only seven stories, so it's easy to loosely connect a lot of her things. I'm familiar with all the source material, but I don't agree with the idea that those songs are really connected. And I still think Gate and Garden is an incoherent mess.

There's a gate, it can be gaurded, well it is not heaven and it has a garden...

I absolutely love it, personally.!

Actually, to be honest, I think it's literally genius - i.m.o. Gate and Garden is actually Stevie's raciest song, believe it or not. Read a certain way, it's got TONS of sexual symbolism in it. I think, personally, that that's what it's really about; and I feel it's very well-done and very clever.

I also feel that it's just plain a nice song to listen to, and very beautiful.
