The Pete Frame Family Tree for FM (not a noted source of accuracy, I admit) refers to an album by the title "Before The Split" and groups it with PG's FM and Mr W.

Was this something like The Original Fleetwood Mac album?

Yes, Before The Split was just an unofficial name for The Original Fleetwood Mac (sort of like "Dog & Dustbin" for PG'sFM).
