Well, obviously I've been watching too many videos from the 80's lately.... and wondering about the stage floor (that she loves) from Stevie's 80's solo tours... the affectionately dubbed "Aztec Landing Pad"

So, does anyone have any info on the design or inspiration or anything on this floor? I love the black and white... and all the different shapes and offsets are really cool, and I'm sure the stage was really trippy to look at when you were performing and on coke or klonopin or whatever... maybe that's why the floor was left in the 80's (to never be seen again), left behind in the 80's with (most) all of Stevie addictions.

But sheerously.....if it were still the 80's... I'd probably re-do my living room floor with the ALP motif... if it weren't so dated.... if only I had more info on it.... anyone????..... Could it be related to the Chilean Caped whatever? Aztec - Chilean... (my priestofnothing jest -I want to know.... what was the connection....)

i always thought of the stage floor as Deco -
not Aztec. To me it looks like it was a design from the 30's.

That landing pad DEFINES the best and worst of the 1980's.

I felt very emotional, waking up to the title of this thread! Call me crazy, but the thought of it seriously made my morning. I *heart* the Aztec Landing Pad and I have not watched any videos in which it is featured in so long! Am I wrong that the design was somewhat different on one tour or another? Like it changed either in between WH and RAL Tours, or between RAL and OSOTM Tours?

I always felt it was a yin yang-ish or Alice in Wonderland-ish pattern (Tom Petty had floors like that in the Don't Come Around Here No More video). That's just my take on it.
