I want to compile a list of all of Stevie's "P*SSED off" songs. I know she has several, but can only come up with a few.

Here are the one's I've thought of:

Planets of the Universe
"looking up at skies on fire, leaving nothing left of us, to discover" YES!! RAGE!! I love the imagery there of fire, and the "we are so over!"

Of course Silver Springs(my fav):
Who could forget Stevie giving Lindsey the look of death on The Dance?

The Chain
mostly for the whole "damn your love, damn your lies" but my favorite part is "I can still hear you saying you would never break the chain" quite a bit of treachery there. (I know it was a group effort but Stevie wrote the lyrics!)

Smile at you (angry version)
I prefer this version to the studio just because you can hear the wrath of fury in her voice. Beautiful.

Dreams
eh..I don't know about this one. There has been some debate on the whole "now there you go again, you say you want your freedom". If she is speaking directly to her lover (i.e. Lindsey) I can just see her rolling her eyes during that point. That is what that line conjures up for me.

Like I said-there are several others, but I can't think of them. Who knows-maybe we'll have a "p*ssed off stevie songs survivor!!"

unless there has already been one.:o

While I do not think she wrote it:

Would you take a look at your life and your lovers - and nothing ever changes!

Yeah, Freedom does have that pissed off feel to it

Look at me with daggers
It won't do you any good....

Long Way to Go has attitude too, but it's somewhat toned down performance-wise I think.

No Spoken Word:
If you tell me one more time baby, take it easy
then you won't see me ever again

Trouble In Shangri La:
And you
you got in my way
stood between me and my friends
It was my sin
It was my shame
You were unconcious to the pain I was in

Wecome To the Room Sara:
When you hang up that phone
Well you cease to exist

Thousand days

even though I'm not fond of this song ....I like the whole

"you nearly dragged me up the stairs" part.

and of course :"and if the sun warms up the rain, and the rain puts out the sun-Why does the greatest love become the greatest pain?"
although that last part isn't really bitter, but I thought it was pretty!

hhmmm...what else.....

Yeah, Thousand Days is definitely in the bitter category. One missing from the list is Mirror Mirror. Big time bitterness!

sweet!!!

I also think Outside the Rain has just a tinge of bitterness...

"oooh, no love's that hard to find-and I'm tired of...and I'm tired of trying"

Christian (I really love this demo)

That's alright

Bombay Sapphires

Fall from Grace

Space Needle (could you please record it Stevie?)

"Twisted" has some good examples:

"You think you hear demons
I think you are the demon
In this place where the images are born"

"You fall to your knees
You embrace the storm
You no longer care
If it's cold or if it's warm
You live for the danger
Like your passion and your anger"

You guys are missing what I think is the KING of all her bitter sting songs........LONG WAY TO GO! "Have fun tell the world", in other words **** OFF!!!

Wild Heart

She seems "un" bitter because she is talking about how flighty she is and her wild heart is to blame for her falling in and out of love. But her lover was not there when she needed him most. So "blame it on my wild heart...but technically it's your fault because wild in the darkes places in your mind is where I needed you to be...and you were.....off fishing"

so it seems "airy-fairy" but girlfriend has a grudge.

I'm thinking next in Lindsey's forum we'll have to come up with all of the songs that are about sex.:D

Fall From Grace:

"Maybe I Am Calmer Now,
Maybe Things Are Fine,
Maybe I Made the Whole Thing Up,
And Maybe This Isn't A Lie,
And Maybe the Reason I Say These Things Is to Bring you Back Alive,
And Maybe I Fought This Long and This Hard Just to Make Sure You Survive..."

That is a good one too!
