Cool and thanks for posting.

Interestingly, La Nicks in this period is very careful when talking about other stars unlike the interviews in the last five or so years a la the Madonna publicity stunt comment.

yeah? I haven't really seen her talk about current celebs all that much. I know she let Madonna have it. The only other time I remember seeing her talk about other stars was when Sandra Bernhardt asked her what she thought of the girl singers of the day (that was around the Enchanted era, I think), and she said they were "all her sisters", or something to that effect. I wonder if she meant that, though, considering the pop acts at that time...

In the Molly Muldrum (sp?) interview for RAL while she was in Australia, she comments of Pat Benatar and Madonna and says something like while they are good, they are much younger than Stevie was. It was, I think, in the context of having to make videos and how she does not like that process because she has to repeat scenes and worry about how she looks. She stresses she is a live performer not an actress.

Ohh, yeah, I have that interview. I don't remember her mentioning that, but I can see where she's coming from.

Oh yeah, I remember that!
Also, I always thought she was too polite to say "Madonna can't even f*cking sing! " but really, really wanted to.
If she thought any of the same things I did when Madonna came out.

Sorry to the Madonna fans. Although I respect her in some ways, in many I don't. She feels very soulless to me, and always has. Plus, and even worse, she can barely f*cking sing! Great videos, though, for sure.

Hahaha, reminds me of the episode of Golden Girls where Dorothy says she will do Hail Marys until Madonna has a hit movie.

So does La Nicks - she has said more than once that she is not the greatest singer, but knows how to use her self described funny voice - or something like that.

I thought it was nice... especially since Stevie seemed to really understand where she was coming from at that point in her career. I think a lot of people viewed her as a novelty act during the 80's.

The difference is, Stevie actually has a good voice, and a great ear.

yup, that's the comment I was referring to.

24 September 2003 (WENN)
Fleetwood Mac legend Stevie Nicks has lambasted pop superstar Madonna for kissing Britney Spears at the MTV VMA Awards - deeming she is too old to kiss youngsters. The singer was disgusted when she saw the 45-year old Hollywood hitmaker smooching with the 21-year old in the headline grabbing incident. She says, "Madonna is too old to be kissing someone who is 22 (sic)." And the veteran singer also slammed Spears and fellow Madonna-kisser Christina Aguilera for their raunchy images. When asked what advice she would give the pair, she says, "Wear more clothes and try writing some decent songs."

Madonna is not a soulful artist...she's a pop star..There's a difference. And you've obviously not been to any of her concerts otherwise you wouldn't make innacurate remarks regarding her singing. The bitch can sing, baby!

Damn, girlfriend seemed really coked out! Loved it nonetheless...

I love hearing her use words like "disenchanted". As messed up as she was she's still our good ole' Stevie underneath it all.

Dumb question but I wonder if she ever watches old interviews of herself and what she would think if she saw something like this where she was obviously a little loopy.

No! I always wonder the same thing when I watch old performances, or listen to interviews. Like that one WH interview where she states she and the gals just got back from Tampa, Florida... "wherever in the world that is!"

Okay, that totally made my night. I'm a huge Cyndi Lauper fan. When I was taking voice lessons years ago my teacher told me how he hated her whiney little squeaky voice, but people who only know her 80's hits have no idea what an impressive range she has.

I'm glad I got up at 8! I know they usually put their musical guests on in the last fifteen minutes, but she was on before 9. And three songs this time... and neither of them True Colours or Time! I like it when she switches stuff up. And she's got a new album in the works!!! :blob1: :blob2:
