I take it Stevie's not singing backup on some of the earlier songs in the setlist, like she did with Don? Too bad -- that's a definite missed opportunity.

I'm surprised by that too - especially since she did her own version of Free Fallin'!

I sure hope so, because I'll be out of the country visiting the UK and will miss this tour. :: SOBS BITTER TEARS ::

Apparently Petty is too... According to the Petty boards it's pretty much the same set as last year with one new song so far.

Livia

Jana said they weren't touring with her.

Oh, okay, my bad. I just assumed they were since they keep showing up on her TV show appearances. Except the Young & the Restless - she did an acoustic, solo thing for that.

I need to hop on a plane right now just to hear Insider at one of the shows. Why oh why can't they play in California? :distress:

Livia

The third leg (September/October) of Tom's tour has not been announced yet. There is also a huge gap between the Denver shows in early July and Seattle/Portland at the end of July. He will definitely play CA at some point, with or without Stevie. I hope she does more!!

Oh Well-Fleetwood Mac cover

Why be shocked? It IS one of the coolest songs from Fleetwood Mac ever, and he just so happens to have somebody from that band touring with him. I'd play it too, especially if I were Tom Freekin' Petty!

I like that Petty did Oh Well, also. A cool tribute to the Mac for Stevie and I bet he does a great job of it.

OK for more details. I guess since you guys already have the setlist and which songs Stevie joined Tom for I'll try to describe how she looked and what she wore haha! She came out for Stop Draggin looking AMAZING. Like I said before her hair is sooo long and beautiful... almost to her waist. She had on a white layered chiffon skirt and a black top and this neat black sheer textured full length coat thingy lol. It was probably one of the best looking outfits I'd seen her in in years. She wore this number for I Need To Know as well. Then she ran off stage and came back in an all black dress with a TIGHT white top thingy and a beautiful white shawl which was very much like her Goodbye Baby shawl from the Say You Will tour. She kept that outfit on for the next couple of songs she sang backup for, then she ran off stage without warning lol. And sing backup she did... after Insider they moved her to the back of the stage lol. She came back for American Girl with black pants on, a layered back chiffon top, and a black top hat with white ostrich feathers, very much her Rock and Roll outfit from last summer.

Let's see... Tom introduced Stevie as "our soul sister Stevie Nicks." She said after Stop Draggin that Tom still makes her so nervous that she still forgets the words to the song "I've been singing, what 10 or 15 years?" Try 25 years Stevie  . She had her usual mic stand for the show with all the flowy bits of chiffon on it, and her usual crescent moon shaped tambo with all of it's usual bits of flowy chiffon on it  . When she was doing the bow with the band at the end of the show she about fell into the crowd because she lost her balance, but she played it off lol. Umm... I guess that's about it! She looked and sounded great!

tom mentions in his book that Oh Well really inspired him in his early days.
After coming back from a FM show in the late 70's, he wrote a song inspired by Oh Well - can't remember the title but it's on You're Gonna Get It.

This is tour is going to be AMAZING!
