I went to the NicksFix and went to the link for Platinum Weird (www.platinumweird.com). I know Stevie has said in the past that she kind of copied Joplin, but I think she got everything from the lead singer, Erin Grace.

If I'm not mistaken, Platinum Weird is that band the guy from the Eurythmics just cooked up. They haven't actually been around for decades, it's a marketing scheme. So, the resemblances in those photos actually represent Erin's homage to Stevie, not the other way around.

Could be totally off base though.

I never even heard of this band but the chick does look like Stevie a little. She is very pretty as well. I did do some research and it seems to be a fictional band. I saw the quote on this site where it says Stevie mentioned she copied her style. But of course that was made up. This Erin girl isn't even a real singer. She is really copying Stevie. But thanks for bringing this up. I never heard of them before and I actually find them interesting.

I was out of town over the weekend in Houston. I ran into a couple of friends (separately) I haven't seen in a while, and almost the first things out of their mouths was, "Did you hear that it turns out Stevie stole her look from a British singer?" I didn't even try to explain.

And now I come back, and we've got *real* fans confused and posting that same thing. (No offense TwistedGypsy - it took me a good hour of furious Googling to finally conclude this was all fake). And the worst part is that it's on the Net, where it will be archived and redistributed and likely be around for years and years.

Oy! Now, what's this about an actual Stevie clip on the PW website? My poor little PC can't even load that page, much less play any clips she might actually be in...

Wait a second...Stevie's interview on the platinum weird video clip of their site where see says she saw them play in London in the 70's, she is making that up? Why would she lie about that? I'm so confused now...
