Often the song "Storms" from Tusk is discussed in this forum. Many people include it in their "best of" wish lists and we all agree that we would love to see it done live.
Here is my question.
Does anyone know anything about this song? Has it ever been done live? Has Stevie ever talked about it? What was it written about?
This is probably my favorite song...I'd love to know more, so I thought I'd ask the experts....you guys!

In a radio interview, I believe with Jim Ladd, prior to last years vegas shows Stevie talked about the song. She said it was written about the end of her relationship with Mick.

But we all know she was lying!!!
:p Sorry, I couldn't resist. Thanks to Mick if he inspired that song.

In my heart of hearts I hoped it was about Lindsey. That is who I always imagined it was about, anyway. I'm going to have to listen to it again, thinking of Mick. (eeeek!) oh Stevie, what were you thinking???

Has she ever discussed the song at length?
I was only 9 years old during the Tusk tour....did she ever sing it?

It has never been performed live! I begged for her to do it forever!
I recently asked her on ASK STEVIE on NicksFix and in her Birthday Greetings!
I am sending out the VIBE! "When I want something..I GET IT!" LOL!
It is about Mick. I really predict it will be on the next FM set list!!!!!
"I pray to the rock n roll gods!"
I think it's about Mick. But I'm probably influenced by the lyric interpretations on The Penguin. I read most of them when I was newly obsessed with the band.
I love Storms because it's one of those songs I can listen to and it totally applies to my own personal stuff. The true measure of a great song IMHO.

I'm not a big FM historian, but as far as I recall she discussed the song a bit in in an 1979 Australian radio interview:

And more recently she talked about it in the 2005 interview with Jim Ladd (go towards the middle of the segment):

I think the best interpretation of this song was on Nancy's site.
go to www.buckinghamnicks.net
Go to "buckingham and Nicks" and then go to the "lyrics and speculation index" Once you get to Storms, someone named jeremy (and that very well could have been someone on this board-have no idea) I think hit the nail exactly on the head with his take on the song. I think of his interpretation every time I hear that song now.

Funny I'm reading this because the other day, it came up on my ipod shuffle and I remembered when I was young and listened to this song....I thought the line where she says: So I can truly win ....was really: So I come to the wind.
And I chuckled. I have to confess, sometimes I like my line better.

I could not agree more. This is one of my favorite Stevie songs. I sang this to my ex when we broke up so everytime I hear it I think of him :distress:
