I am thinking maybe she will do a few songs of her own

But, I cannot see her opening for TP - I mean Henley opened for her :woohoo:

Yeah, I was under the impression that she was just gonna be the "honorary Heartbreaker" that she is. This article makes it sound like she's doing her own set, with her own band.

They obviously got it wrong. Stevie Nicks does NOT open shows. She will be so pissed when she reads this online, that's she'll throw her computer out the window, call her PR folks on her cell phone, and channel her angry through listening to Metallica on her ipod.

The opening act is supposed to be Trey Anastasio. They couldn't possibly have two full opening act sets, the show would be too long wouldn't it? They probably just got the wording wrong unless her and the other guy have mini sets - then possibly.

I can see her opening for Petty, she worships him. Also this tours seem to have a real locked down guest list throughout all legs (except for maybe the third) and maybe she ISN'T making any further appearances down the road.

DAMN!

The Black Crowes have 2 opening acts. At least they do here...I think the show starts at 7, rather than the usual shed tour starting time of 8.

Maybe the article means "opening" his tour. Since its the "first few shows.

That's how I read it too, at first. Then I re-read it and it seems like both Stevie and Anastasio are opening. Ticketmaster lists some shows as "Tom Petty-Trey Anastasio" and some as "Tom Petty - Pearl Jam". There still isn't any listing for Stevie there. This is confusing.

Of course, this is Stevie we're talking about. Has she ever hit the road without massive confusion for all of us?

Ticketmaster makes everything confusing. I typed "Melissa Etheridge" to get tickets and it pulled up a zillion options.

Pearl Jam is a co-headliner on a few shows this tour. Trey Anastacio is the opening act for the first leg. I think bikerchic has it right. It's awkwardly written, but I think they mean that Stevie is opening up the tour with TP.

I will fall over dead if Stevie is ever an opening act.

I like the headline on this one - but it's too bad Reuters is using the misleading Billboard article...

That's what I thought too when I saw it. You'd think we would have found out sooner if she was an opening act. That is going to be one interesting crowd with her and Trey's fans.
