Oh  I find her adorabe!
Were complete opposites here - her music to me is extremely corny - and I wouldn't be caught dead listening to her - but I love her show.
But as Paula Abdul says - opposites attract right... ;)

:wavey: Huge Tesla fan here- (and I've had to defend them on this board before :( )
Yay- go Tesla!
I don't love any individual performers as much as Stevie, but as far as bands go, I would have to say The Beatles. I love a lot of music, but I have no interest in talking about the performers themselves, the way we do about Stevie. Stevie is my only musical obsession.

Thanks for reading my list. I always wonder if anyone truly gives a sh*eeat.
But all those artists, I do own their whole darn catalog and money well spent I may add.
As for Berlin. Pleasure Victim is a must have. All 80's synth. Every song is great, especially The Metro, Pleasure Victim and Masquerade. Sex (I'm A...) is great too, but overplayed.
You have to understand that as Berlin released albums, each one moved farther away from a synth sound to more straight up rock. Starting with Count Three & Pray.
Voyeur is not the original band from the first 3 albums and is quite good. Ignore the lead off single, Blink Of an Eye. Although good, not as good as some other solid gems on the album.

Tremors is the shit!
YAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!
Reba and Michael Gross are the perfect couple in it. Their scene killing off that one Tremor in their barrack home brings laughter tears everytime. OMG. Brilliant.
I have the whole damn Tremors collection. Have you seen Tremors 4 (The Beginning)? So good.

I had a feeling that Voyeur was not the original band - did it not have Terri Nun as the singer?
You coaxed me into buying Pleasure Victim :o
You and I have alot of similarities I have atleast one CD from the following:
Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers
Robert Plant
Susanna Hoffs
Crash Test Dummies
Miss Vicky

I'm not exactly a Stevie fan, but I'm bored, so whatever....
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers/Traveling Wilburys
Walter Egan/The Malibooz (gee, bet you couldn't have guessed that one)
Lindsey Buckingham
Billy Burnette
Warren Zevon
Live
Matchbox 20/Rob Thomas
Bob Seger
Creed
Savage Garden
Eric Clapton
Mamas and the Papas
John Stewart/Kingston Trio
The Minstrels of Mayhem (bet they won't make anyone else's list  )
The first five are my ultimate favorites. The rest are in no particular order.

Terri Nunn will always be on every Berlin album. Don't you worry about that. She put out a very good solo album years ago, Moment of Truth. Long out of print. Thankfully I still have it. I love her voice.
You and I have alot of similarities I have at least one CD from the following:
Susanna Hoffs
Crash Test Dummies
Which Susanna Hoffs album? The second one is so good, the self titled. Mick Fleetwood guest appears (Drums) on a track, Falling. Soft and sweet that song is.
I have CTD so many times live. Just great stuff. So lyrically weird. Brad Roberts is hilarious. Which CTD album do you have?

I have that same Susanna Hoffs one, self titled. I find it really good. Still have not listened to the whole thing, but am about 60% my way through it.
I have two CTD CD's. One being the popular "God Shuffled His Feet", and I also have the debut CD "Ghosts That Haunt Me". Both really great, although I have not listened to them in a while. I also have "Worms" on tape

I have ALL of them. Including a couple CD singles with live cuts. This is one band I will buy everything. You have the first 3 albums. All good. I first saw them on the 'Worm's Life' Tour. I was hooked.
There is a really fun side project, Crash Test Dude. A 2-Disc live set of Brad singing cover tunes (and CTD tunes) and hilarious commentary and jokes between songs. I mean he covers Bette Davis Eyes, Delilah, Unbreak My Heart. So funny, especially with his baritone voice. Filled with tasteless good fun.

Other than Stevie, my other duo are Siouxsie Sioux and Dan Hicks. THEN you have my ardent love for all things 80's, in particular the "alternative" of the 80's. A lot of the one hit wonder bands/songs.
Then I love all 70's classic rock. Next choice of sound would be a tie for 40's big band stuff then 20's Cotton Club jazz.
In firt order, then after #2 no particular order
Siouxsie & The Banshees/Creatures
Dan Hicks
Sinead O'Connor
ELO
Fiona Apple
Blondie/Debbie Harry
Supertramp
Firefall (ONCE in a while)
Talking Heads (Stop Making Sense an essential MUST!)
ABC
Ok, then um, 80 alt,
70's rock
40's Big Band
20-30's Cotton Club Jazz
then
Scott Joplin (My chill, creative music doseage. lol)
Does that narrow it down? =0D

sure, we can do some mp3 swapping, if i've got anything you want! i used to have a shit ton of babs' albums when i was younger (around 30) (albums, not years of age), but since i was young and stupid, i lost many of them ... right now i have just for the record, timeless, the third album, the second album, funny girl, the broadway album, back to broadway, and probably some others at my parents' house that i can't think of off the top of my head.

sure, we can do some mp3 swapping, if i've got anything you want! i used to have a shit ton of babs' albums when i was younger (around 30) (albums, not years of age), but since i was young and stupid, i lost many of them ... right now i have just for the record, timeless, the third album, the second album, funny girl, the broadway album, back to broadway, and probably some others at my parents' house that i can't think of off the top of my head.
i also have an original pressing of the broadway album on vinyl still shrink wrapped ... somewhere ...
oh, I thought you meant like the record of on a clear day.
cool. I think I have all of her albums with the exception of 5 or so.
I've got the funny girl vinyl at home. it's cool.

Maria McKee/Lone Justice
Is it just me or does she sound a lot like Stevie? I'm sure this has been discussed before but of course I missed it.
Anyway, I like her voice too!

I've been a fan of both for so long that I've never noticed them sounding alike but that's just due to being familiar with all their work. Not to say they don't but Maria seems to have an edgier attitude when she sings.

I agree with all of this, but I have always thought "Shelter" was very Stevie-esque.

DEF meant to be that I came down. Also meant to add that I am a Bowie fan. One of my FEW fav male vocalists. Just a friggin icon of music. I've been seeing someone w/ that killer Bowie sig/pic thingy (to lazy to look for who...you KNOW WHO YOU ARE lol), and it's fab! I've only seen him a couple of times, but OMG, what a star!

musicians who I like more/equal to Stevie (Cause otherwise I would be here typing for hours-upon-hours):
the late great Freddie Mercury (Who truly is Queen!!!)
the late great Andrew Wood of Mother Love Bone (A true Freddie disciple)
King Diamond
David Gilmour
Pink Floyd
the late great Philip Lynott of Thin Lizzy (Pure genius!!!)
Dream Theater
The Beatles
Guns N FN Roses
One thing, Stevie is the #1 female musician I like, Just beating out the ultra-sexy Cristina Scabbia of Lacuna Coil (God, That Italian is hella brain frying sexy! I would be her toy anytime she would need me.)

Jodie Foster ...the only other living performer I truly worship on the level that I have La Nicks .
I'm on a Rilo Kiley (http://www.rilokiley.net)/Jenny Lewis (http://www.jennylewis.com)/The Elected (http://www.theelected.com) kick right now, majorly (the Elected is a solo project of Blake Sennett, the guy from Rilo Kiley-- "solo project" sound familiar to anyone here?) And any other indie type music that's weird, new, or tight. (or Canadian) Like..... Metric, The Arcade Fire, Editors, Interpol, M.I.A., Whispertown2000, The Faint, Son Ambulance, Death Cab, The Postal Service, Zero 7, Portishead and of course the Cure.

Love Dolly, Aimee and Allison Krauss. Good choices all.
Steely Dan is also a regular on the ol' iPod. Musically, I'm not sure there's anyone in pop music that's more unique.
For those who dig Dolly and Allison: check out Mindy Smith, whose voice is just amazing. On her first album, "One Moment More," she duets with Dolly on "Jolene" and it sends chills up the spine. "Hurricane" and "Raggedy Ann" are choice tracks on this record as well.
Nickel Creek is also amazing. They have three records out, but the first self-titled one is the best. "When You Come Back Down" is, I think, one of the best songs of the last decade.
Fun thread!
