Are there concrete plans for releasing it or why is it suddenly coming up?

I've heard rumors of it being released this summer, but nothing official. Not sure which concert it will be or if it will be a compilation.
As for Lady Nicks, she's resting I hope.

did anyone ever see any video cameras at the show?
I asked that question a long time ago to anyone that had gone... Never really got a difinitive answer on it... I thought for sure we'd hear more about the cameras all over the place - other then the standard cameras that are in the sound area so they can project her image on the big screens. Figured we would hear reports of those crane things that swoops down and back up, and also camera guys on the stage??
I have a feeling they may have filmed some stuff during the 10 days rehearsal prior to Melbourne, at least I'm hoping they did - maybe for the close ups and stuff like that. Maybe the actual live concert was just to capture more live audio (with an audience) plus additional footage of an audience being there.. I don't know.
Plus the two songs they re-recorded at the end. To me it sounds like it was redone because the audio recording wasn't done properly the first time. It wouldn't make sense to refilm her - she's wearing the wrong clothing. But who knows... I just hope it's a dvd and not a just a live cd.

I was in the front row at the Melbourne concert and I didn't see any cameras at all. I am assuming they were in the back or something. I thought it was very odd...
She talked about them "filming" a few times but I didn't see one damn camera. When she did the first two songs over she said that there would be hell to pay etc.. because they didn't get the audio and she was in her Beauty and the Beast outfit
I think it was before GDW that I saw Karen come out to the side of the stage and she and La Nicks were talking. Stevie didn't look happy and kinda shook her head......... I am assuming Karen was telling her about the audio screw up.
Did anyone else see cameras? Did I miss something??

there was a camera up high on the right side of the stage in melbourne, it was in the roped off area , it was recording the crowd, the other cameras were in the light tower, the cameras are pretty good, they had close ups all night that you probably didnt see from the front row

I'm looking forward to our DVD with Stevie & the orchestra. She is looking stunning.
Were all the shows indoors at night? :) :( :blob1:
The media reports here in Melbourne and the advertising for the concert all said it would be filmed for a live DVD. In addition, a local company called Metropolis Audio (or their parent company at least) made an announcment to the Melbourne Stock Exchange on 19 January they had won the contract to produce the DVD. They must have thought this would have a positive effect on their share price!
So I feel confident there will be a DVD of Stevie and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra released this year. It will be great.

The video bootleg is out and it's quite extraordinary. Most of it was pro-shot, with the recorder remarkably steady on the overhead monitors. Stevie looks radiant.
If the commercial DVD is ever released, it probably won't include the original take of Outside the Rain/Dreams since the video and/or audio crew appears to have botched that portion of the recording. The second rendition, with Stevie still wearing her Beauty & The Beast outfit, is captured here. So it's worth it to own this unofficial version with the extra footage.

That sounds cool, Daniel! I'm looking forward to this sort of! I hope that camera doesn't swoop & swirl so that I get motion sickness. Plus I hope there are plenty of long cuts instead of those rapid-fire montages that would have Pudovkin spinning in his commie grave.

What I enjoy most about the first part of the video is that the recorder captures the entire stage, so you get a fantastic view of the orchestra and the video monitor displaying Sulamith Wulfing's art, etc. The whole thing has a film look (I don't know the proper terminology), rather than digital video like most of the other audience recordings we've seen over the past three tours. It's letterbox format too. Must be a different recording mode on the camera, or something. But huge, huge props for the steady camera.

The footage displayed on the overhead monitor was much like how FM Live in Boston was. Lots of great closeups on all the band members.

Yes, at Melbourne I believe. They had to reshoot Dreams & OTR (?) due to sound problems.
Which would mean if anything it will be an album. Reshooting the first two songs at the end of the show would have her in a different outfit and would not be good for continuity.

It apparently was an audio issue, not a video issue. The audio didn't record the first time played or something like that.
But I thought the same thing, when I didn't hear anyone talking about the cameras around the venue - that it would be an album not a dvd... BUT. People have confirmed the cameras.

If you have a CD and/or DVD burner it can be easy. Just get a list of all of the CD and DVDs that you have for trade. You can put your list on a webpage if you like.
If you don't have anything to trade you can do a 2 for 1 trade with a trader and that can be a nice start to a growing collection.
I know that this board does not have a traders list but a few boards do. You can put your list or page on those boards. Even if you don't have a lot of stuff it is wise to start to make a list.

Question 135 - from Susan E in Dunedin New Zealand
Dear Stevie, Thank you so much for coming to New Zealand, the concert was wonderful, you sounded and looked great. I especially loved you performing "Has Anyone Ever Written Anything for You" Please come back again soon :-) Is there going to be a DVD of your tour? Take Care Lots of Love SusanXX
Stevie's answer:
Hi Susan, thank you so much, I truly loved New Zealand! Unfortunately, we are not planning on putting out a DVD of any of the shows there.
Do you think she's only talking about the NZ shows? The question was about the Down Under tour in general...

I *hope* Stevie mis-read the question, and was only talking about New Zealand shows. But, I'm afraid that the Melbourne show either turned out crappy or didn't turn out at all (given that recording crew screwup of the first 2 songs).

I'm thinking she meant just NZ too - I'm just wondering why she didn't say:
"There will be no DVD from any of the NZ shows, but we did record my show in Melbourne with the MSO. It should be out by Xmas. It was a fabulous, magical evening, and I'm sure everyone will love it."

I think (hope and pray) that you're right. There are SO many DVD's out there now from every artist imanginable...many more that very available 10 or 15 years ago. Even relatively new artists have some DVD package out there, whether it be videos or a live concert. It blows me away that the last solo Stevie show available commercially is from 1986. And it's not like she stopped touring or took time off. The woman hasn't stopped. Personally, I would have loved to see one the "Enchanted" shows filmed for release. So she's more than due to a live release. And how about a complete video package? None of her videos are out on DVD.Wouldn't THAT be nice but I know I'm probably just living on dreams and chains with that one...

The last show of the Enchanted tour was filmed (I'm assuming to be released but who knows with Stevie  ) but it rained so maybe that was why it never made the light of day. Her outfits and her set list were just so wonderful on that tour, not to mention the amazing set design. I just think it would have made a wonderful show. Plus, that was the last tour she wore the boots for the entire time. Ah, the good old days

To me, it would be like if Fleetwood Mac had a Q&A back in spring 1997, & somebody from, say, Arizona asked them about a concert DVD from AZ & they just said: "Unfortunately, we won't be putting out a DVD from THERE."
And not a word about putting out a DVD from Burbank of The Dance!!

Just because there are cameras filming the concert doesn't mean that the footage HAS to be released. Look at the Rosebud footage. Snippets of "World Turning", "Over My Head" and most of "I'm So Afraid is all that was used of the hour & three-quarters Santa Barbara show.
And, even THAT finished video wasn't intended for public consumption. It was only for private promotional purposes.
