all your Stevie photos?

I have a Mac and use iPhoto. I love it. BUT, I'm getting to where I have thousands of Stevie photos and I was curious how you all organize, save, etc. all your pictures. I need to put them all on disc to save in case I have a crash. Speaking of backing up, I seriously need to back up my iTunes in a bitch ass bad kind of way. I would die if I lost all that music.

When I am done with that, I will subcategorize those three again. But it's a lot of work.

It's kind of hard to tell with some, but I try to organize by YEAR or by TOUR other then that, it ends up in the misc. folder.

ORGANIZE!? What is that? Seriously, I need to start doing some. I did get a nice photo book to put in some of the different Mac photos that I have. As for my PC I have so much stuff on it all just under My Pictures and I just scroll through them. Most of my older Stevie photos are on a seperate folder with my old PC files so it makes it a bit easier.
I just started trying to get all of my DVDs organized.

Both FM and Stevie pics are mostly all in one folder - but I always rename them to something I think I'll remember what it is, without having to open the file. Beginning with the SYW tour, pics are organized by city.

I have floppy disks galore from my last job, everything I had on that computer. And more stuff I've moved onto zip disks from my current job's work computer. Once I get a zip drive at home, I can access those...but I'm sure I have duplicates of all kinds of stuff...I do a print screen from Windows Explorer and paste into Word the list of files. Then I print that, cut it out, and stick it in the disk like album liner notes, so I can find crap easier....

All my audio stuff is organized by album - boots, demos, outtakes, etc. And the live stuff is organized the same, by tour and city.

I had all my Mac and Stevie pictures in one folder but it go too hard to find anything so I started separating everything. I tried to do it by years or tours. Like I have "StevieEarlyFMyears", which I will put anything from the WA or Rumours era. Eventually, I may subcategorize further but right now I am still working on getting everything separated. We just had that Halloween thread, so I started a folder called "MacHalloween" and saved everything to that folder from the thread. I then went back and deleted any duplicates. Now, everything I save, I try to put it right into its specific folder...
I also rename everything so I can find specific pictures when I want them. I do not care how long the name is either.

My audio files are a mess. I have the live boots all separated nicely but demos are a nightmare. I have a hard time with things being labeled differently from one person to another so I have many duplicates, just labeled slightly different. I made a folder for each era like "TISL demos". For Lindsey, I just made one folder because he does not have nearly as many demos as La Nicks. I

oh my god, i hear ya. i have so many duplicates of tracks, so many folders... i believe i actually have every demo ever recorded, but they are in no organized fashion on my computer. i haven't even listened to them all - i definitely haven't listened to all the live tracks i have. i just like having them. all i can say... thank god for the "search" function.

I ditto that.

It's gonna take one serious weekend to straighten this out. I would suck down songs and not even listen to them, just to have it. But now as I get older, and time making me bolder, I will be deleting many of them. I'm no longer interested in crap audio boots. My ears just can't take listening to them, rare or not.

When I download stuff I may or may not already have, I put it on my desktop. And then usually once a week, I do a cleanup and decide if it's a keeper or trash it...

I must admit, my Stevie/FM photos are in a mess. However, I mostly have my music files in folders labeled what city or tour it is from. I even shove the interview files into folders so they are all together.

I threw all the SYW related stuff (photos and music) all in one folder labeled SYW and am finally burning them onto CD's.

I can relate to all the duplicate stuff. I download as much as I can, while we still can (with the RIAA police and all)
Since people label files differently, I grab them and then sort it all out later.
For music though, I did create a demos folder too. I also just have a misc. folder that somehow I just know what is in there.

My Husband asks me why I download so many versions of the same song. I answer "because they are all different" with Stevie's adlibs, different musicians, different audience interactions, etc.. make each song different and special even though it is technically the same song.
