I know we all love this song and someone requested this version a while back. I actually like it better with all the production but it's interesting to hear it scaled down. What do you guys think?

I actually really like that mix ~ Not as much as the album version, but I think the vocals are really great!
Thanks for posting Saphire :xoxo:

To hear the vocals so clearly is really great. The album version still reigns though.

A very, very interesting listen. Thankies!

There's just something wrong hearing Lindsey sing:
I know he loves me
Everyday he calls me
He says he adores me
What can I say
You can't love him
You can't have him
I do have him, most of the time

Hmm ... that did strike me the first time I listened to it. It makes the song stand out a little, I guess. It doesn't really bother me though. His harmony is one of my favourite things about that song. :o

Stevie and Lindsey forever, btw.

Listen closely to the way they overlapped Lindsey's voice on top of Stevie's for "I" . . . (As in, "I know he loves me, etc.)
To me, when they combined it that way, it ended up sounding like Stevie's snarling!

I dunno, did it seem that way to anyone else? . . . .

So gay! :)

Be careful with the "so gay" stuff...
So when Stevie & Chris are singing "I would bleed to love her"
Are they "so gay" too???

I think most people on this board are well aware Lindsey is not gay, as I was saying it in jest. And trust me, I'm the last person to be any type of homophobe since I'm gay. But if it seems offensive I will edit it out.

I think this is the center channel mix from the DVD audio. But I really like listening to it too. Lindsey's singing is so great on this song, when I hear the regular version, the song always seems stronger when the both of them are singing. Best song on the album.

I agree. I'm torn between this and Goodbye Baby as the best song on the album. That damn break near the end with the synths/guitar/violins (whatever it is) is sheer greatness.

I totally agree!

That part after the synth break, "WHEN LOVE STARTS OUT OF THE DARKNESS..." I always imagine them singing at one mic together with all that fury and anger they used to sing with ala "the chain" 1982.

Oh...those two.

One of my favorite parts is the vocal: "Well you always know when something's wrong, my friend." Hit that hight note girlfriend!
I just tried to sing it aloud, it wasn't pretty.

I like the way the rhythm guitar just chugs along, giving a folkie quality to a track that would otherwise sound completely modern.

That rhythm acoustic that Lindsey (I guess) put on sounds like the rhythm acoustic that opens the verses of "Crazy On You" by Heart.

Her lead vocal is so low that he definitely overpowers her on EFO.
At the end it comes up..but I wish it happens sooner or from the beginning..it would have been tight like "I Don't Wanna Know!"

Is this actually an early mix, or is this one of the tracks taken from the DVD-A where certain speakers were eliminated, therefore eliminating some of the instruments to leave it sounding a little more raw??

Mix from what DVD audio? I know some weird thing happens when I put my SYW album in the computer. I think it has some extra stuff, is that what you are talking about? What's center channel mix mean?

Love your banner btw! I have a postcard with those same legs.

You know I actually have no idea. I just found this when I was going through my demos yesterday. I'm not sure where I got it from, sorry. It was just labeled EFO Early Mix.

OMG you're sig pics are freaking me out! The one of Stevie looks like she's morphing from a young girl into and old lady and Christine looks like she's about to pick her nose  Very cool though MacMan.

Say You Will was released on DVD-audio. It's a format that will not play on a CD player, only a DVD player. There's som graphic images on there for each song but nothing elaborate and no moving images. The sound is split among the five speakers that make up a home theatre system. This mp3 is the center channel of that song. When played together you get the whole shebang. I recommend it if you've got a home theatre.
