Is Vanessa Carlton the only one of Stevie's opening acts who is Jewish?

Didn't the Hooters open up for her back in 1989? I thought that someone from that band was Jewish. Maybe not.

Curious as to why you ask?

That's an odd thing to bring up...or notice for that matter.

That's an odd thing to bring up...or notice for that matter.Well, we've never had an in-depth discussion of the influence of Jewish art, culture or thought on the historical record as it pertains to Fleetwood Mac & its members.

See my Peter Greenbaum thread on the PG forum.

Stevie has had some Jewish band members over the years, but what is the nature of & extent to which Jewish musical elements have influenced the sound & style of her solo albums & tours?

(These questions are dedicated to my pal ghost_tracker :wavey: )

You know - you could have just started the first post with your second post by immediately fleshing out the reason for such a discussion. The first post smacked of some kind of derogatory comment regarding judisim, your second was more comprehensive.

I'm jewish, and I can honestly say, with all sincerity, that I do not give a flying figg about who is jewish or not in Stevie's world or Fleetwood Mac's history. Perhaps some artists who are Jewish lend their background in the creative process, but I don't see that with Mac. Their music isn't steeped in jewish perspectives - it's probably more infused with Church of England, restless British blues that evolved into California rock, more infused with a non-religious vibe that dabbled in Stevie's Wiccan curiosity.

If you want to discuss the jewish influence in the music world itself, you might want to point to Dylan for a start- whose own relgious background (jewish and for a short time Born Again) painted stark pictures in his lyrics and melodies. Everyone in the rock world has been turned on and influence by Dylan. Perhaps Fleetwood Mac was influence by him, or Gershin or Berlin? As for who played guitar, drums or if the opening act for Stevie is jewish? Who cares?

Geez...you know, Stevie never had an African American in her band. Ever notice that those who open for her don't have short hair? Why is that? Is Vanessa Carlton the only one who's opened up for her under 25?

Sorry again for snark...I just got riled up by that first post. Shouldn't have read it, but sometimes you can't help it.

She's had many...Elisecia Wright, backup singer. Don Boyette on bass, Enchanted Tour. Land Richards on drums, Enchanted Tour. As well as the pianist on the recent Gold Dust Tour.

I think since Stevie has chosen to become an interminably touring jukebox of oldies and no longer seems to be interested in creating new music David may just be trying to stimulate conversation as I have noticed others on here doing.Without the thought of new music or an album to look forward to ,as there has always been in the past ,it is pretty dry around here.
