song titles always fascinate me. I have to admit I love how Stevie names her songs and I'm a big fan of the single word titles. I also love how Stevie refers to a couple with different titles; like In the Still of the Night vs. How Still My Love or You Never Promised Me A Rose Garden vs. Rose Garden.

are there any other instances of her re-naming?

are there any songs you'd like to re-name?

I have Always Been a Storm - as oppsed to Storms

She has referred to others, but I am drawing a blank.

No Light. Eventually, with some added and re-worked lyrics, it became Planets of the Universe! :)

When I first became a Fleetwood Mac fan I was terribly confused with Dreams. She hardly says the word "dreams" at all in that song. That's probably why the casual fans/concert reviewers always call it "Thunder only Happens When It's Raining".

These names have been invented by traders and fans trying to label demos and are not real alternate titles.
One of the tickets that was floating around for the master reel which included "The Tower piano demo" had the song marked as "Goodbye Baby".

In an interview with Jim Ladd she says [I'm paraphrasing from what I can remember here]

I just wrote a song called "One More Big Time Rock and Roll Star Just What I Need"

Jim says "That's the title?"

Stevie giggles and says, "Yes, and it's fabulous"

(the longest song title ever)

Yeah, in the case of "Nomad," "Cathouse Blues," "Watchdevil," "Designs of Love," "You Could Forget" etc., it was the big bootlegger who put together the Almanac vinyl back around 1979. (Who was that person anyway?)

although apparently they got "Sorcerer" & "Storms" correct. Maybe that was just a lucky guess.

Almanac was around before 1979...more like 1976 or '77

That interview is all kinds of hilarious. :D "We just flew in from Florida... Wherever in the world that is..."

How about changing 'The Nightmare' to 'Reasons Not To Do Coke'

BTW, I HATE it when Dreams is referred to as "Thunder only happened when it's raining". That's not the GD title, and it's a terrible name for a song. Ever search for FM/Stevie on a download page? No one knows anything!

I just got off work. I guess I'm a little grumpy.

Almanac was around before 1979...more like 1976 or '77There's no way it was before 78.....the "Watchdevil" track was done in 78

I knew no one who had it before 79, but I'm willing to grant possible '78.

Actually that is exactly why I love this song (well, one of many reasons). I love it that she doesn't use the word "Dreams" at all, except in what is one my favorite Stevie lines ever:"It's only me who wants to wrap around your dreams...".
I find it very clever that she named the song that. I don't like it when song titles are very explanatory, if you know what I mean :)

I used to joke to myself about how short Stevie's song titles were. I mean, "Crystal," "Dreams," "Sara," "Storms," "Angel" and so on. I imagine she would have titled "What Makes You Think You're The One" "What?" :)
