MINNEAPOLIS - Kirby Puckett died Monday, a day after the Hall of Fame outfielder had a stroke at his Arizona home, a hospital spokeswoman said. He was 44.

this just breaks my heart, i knew the situation seemed dire, i was just hoping for a ray of hope as far as he is concerned~ this is a very sad day indeed~ &

I have no words to describe what I'm feeling right now. :( I saw almost 600 games that this man played in. I used to sit in centerfield at the metrodome just to watch him close up. I remember being in the stands for game 6 of the 1991 world series watching him singlehandedly beat the Braves. The entire state of Minnesota is in shock, me included.
