Has anyone seen this yet? Bill Graham's stash of all sorts of awesome stuff from the 60s to today. There is EVERYTHING. Posters, photos, t-shirts, tickets, backstage passes. And I hear they are going to start selling all of the old soundboards and video recordings soon too. There's a ton of Mac stuff, of course. Check it out!

I saw a piece on it over the weekend on CBS Sunday Morning or something and it gave me a boner. The stuff in there is amazing.

These are dangerous relationships, folks.

Far better and more rewarding than the ridiculously expensive memorabilia is the Woflgang's Vault radio station, playing selections from the thousands upon thousands of concerts Bill Graham recorded at his two Fillmore Auditoriums (East and West), as well as other venues, in the 60s and 70s. The sound quality is incredible, and the breadth of music is astounding.

Right now it's Aretha Franklin doing "Respect." Which is actually available on her (fantastic) Live at the Fillmore album, although this is the only commercially available cut I've heard on here.

And now it's Pink Floyd doing "Welcome to the Machine" at the Oakland Coliseum, May 9th, 1977.

ChiliD, you'll go ape**** over this if you don't know about it already. So far tonight since I've been listening, they've played Hot Tuna, Delaney & Bonnie, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Booker T. & the MGs, Paul Butterfield... all songs from random shows they've dug out of Graham's archives. Hopefully some of these will see a commercial release some day.

"Ape****" are you kiddin' me? OF COURSE!!

A buddy of mine told me about this a couple of days ago, but I hadn't gotten the chance to check it out until today.

Anybody know of a free software that captures streaming audio? (and converts it to mp3s or wav files?)

Dylan doing "Ballad of a Thin Man" with the Band in 1974 into Springsteen doing "Spirit in the Night" at the Berkeley Community Theatre in march 1973 ain't a bad segue either.

It just seems weird that Springsteen was the OPENING ACT at that show (Blood, Sweat & Tears was the headliner!)...I love the "trivia facts" section!

I just turned it on. Holy Cr*p, did you read the entire "who's in rotation"?

Omigod, Neil Young and Bob Dylan - Helpless. 3/23/75
Jeezus. This really is a f*cking goldmine.

aww...the night they drove ol' dixie down - 6/2/74, Joan Baez. Greek Theatre. I'm going to cry, I love this song. Ha, I was 28 days from being born.

And this is really just the tiniest fraction of what they've got. They rotate the radio playlist every week or so, I think, but they've got literally thousands of shows that Bill Graham recorded over the years.

I can't believe it was only $15 to see FM, Loverboy, John Cougar, and somebody else that I just forgot, in 1982. $17.50 at the door.

Good timing, I grabbed the image of this poster a week or so ago, and I kept meaning to post it, but I have been too lazy. I might have to stop sleeping so I can listen to all of the streaming music on that site!
