Any of the Europeans around here ever been to this Danish music festival?

This year's line-up is shaping up to be pretty good, with Bob Dylan rumoured to be playing and Kanye West, Franz Ferdinand and Josh Rouse already on the bill, along with a lot of different Danish bands. Oh, and Roger Waters performing Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety. I mean... I guess that'll be kinda cool...

Tickets are 180 Euro, not too shabby for a four day festival with free camping.

I thought about going last year (because New Order were playing) (I still hate myself for not going to see them anywhere last year), but I thought € 180,- was a F***ing lot of money, really. Well, if you go just for one band, it is, of course. Can't say this bandlist makes me any more enthousiastic. But there's plenty of festivals coming up ;)

Well, don't totally write off Roskilde yet, they've still got a lot more bands to add! But yes, it is expensive if you're just going to see one band. I think my quorum is six that I'm actually excited about, and then there will surely be many more that I'm at least interested in. And some of these Danish bands that I've never heard of seem cool.

edit: got my festivals mixed up, NO didn't play Roskilde last year, just checked the bandlist.
Bandlist 2006: this isn't the complete list yet, then? Anyway, I send some band requests in:laugh:

No, there's only twenty artists on the list right now, but I think they're planning on well over 100. It's a four day festival, and they've got a lot of stages to fill! Their schedules from the past few years are getting me pretty excited about who they have yet to add to this year's line-up. Last year featured Black Sabbath, Bloc Party, Bright Eyes, Duran Duran, Flogging Molly, Foo Fighters, Four Tet, The Go! Team, Junior Senior, Konono No. 1, M83, Mastodon, Mylo, Joanna Newsom, Snoop Dogg, Sonic Youth, Brian Wilson... just to name a few!

no official names yet, but from www.neworderonline.com, the rumours are:

Beck - strong rumour
Bloc Party - strong rumour
Editors - rumour
Hard-Fi - rumour
James Blunt - rumour
Kasabian - strong rumour
Keane - strong rumour
Kubb - rumour
Massive Attack - rumour
Morrissey - strong rumour

I went nuts (not enough smilies to describe that) when I read that list.. no vacation plans yet, I think I might save my money for a trip to Chelmsford then :D

(edit: that's stupid, I don't mention WHICH festival)

I saw them at Universal Amphitheatre. Dave Grohl (?) is a great performer!
