All These Years

Does anybody know anything concrete about Stevie's demo "All These Years"? I just gave it a listen for the first time in about a year, and it took my breath away. I'm not usually a fan of the bulk of her demo meanderings--I often find them rather forgettable--but this one struck me as quite sad and haunting. Was the track written by her? I thought maybe it was one Mike Campbell sent her, since it didn't sound like her usual synth demo fare. I even like the vocal (and this is why I'm not sad she never chose to record it... because I'm sad to say I think I wouldn't enjoy it much in her current voice), she sounds young and innocent--almost recalling the much earlier Rhiannon piano demo.


What does everyone think of this song?

It may be because I also discovered the City of Hope demo this week, but is this about Robin too?? Or Sara? running away to be with Mick.

She sounds rather.. stuffed up shall we say. It's definitely an early 80s demo, isn't it?

Anyway, I like this song. I am so thankful for all these demos and for all of you who post them.. I have listened to all the released stuff so much, and I do love the feeling as you get to know a Stevie song... the second time, third etc you listen to it and get to know it. It is a great thing :)
