while it resembles something I've seen in one of the Wincensten books, I agree that this is so NO Stevie. looks like, as Chris said, a Golden Girls' Dorothy outfit or some over the hill drag queen's tipping dress

i have seen pics of her bedroom in a previous home she owned & in it was a rack of clothing, & there are some scary patterns on some of the stuff hanging if you look real close :shrug: ~

Yuck! What a dreadful outfit. I would hope Stevie wouldn't wear it but she has worn some interesting outfits in the past so I wouldn't put it past her.

Honey, the 80's made us do some weird things. That didn't exclude wearing Rue McClanahan hand me downs. I can't really see Stevie wearing this either - but I recently took a peak at the Fleetwood Mac "Tango in the Night" concert video and saw Stevie awash in acid washed jeans and jacket - something I never thought she'd wear....so anything is possible.

She probably never wore it, and kept it in her closet, like many of us girls do. Hell - you should see the crap I've hidden in my closet that never saw the light of day until it went in the Salvation Army bin.

What is up with those Golden girls??? They have the worst taste in clothes. Rose was the only one who wore half way decent clothes on the show. Did people actually dress like that in the mid eighties? Why would they do that?

are they? i actually have no idea whatsoever. but i've seen a few things they've sold as "stevie-owned and stevie-worn" that have rasied my eyebrows in disbelief. i wonder sometimes if "stevie-owned" means some fan gave her something and she handed it right over to the silver springs emporium...

It looks like something maybe Bobbye Hall would have worn. There are some pics of Stevie at the Purple Rain premiere and she has this gal with her that bless her heart, wore some pretty aweful stuff. I wonder if Stevie's mom just took anything from all of Stevie's posse. Like it wouldn't have surprised me if Sharon, Lori, and anyone said "eh, don't need this...maybe Mrs. nicks can sell it as something of SN's." I mean it wasn't hers directly, but several degrees seperated. lol. But really, look at some of Bobbye's stuff. She had a little bling going on for the 80's, but not all whimisical like SN's stuff.

Indeed though Stevie has worn some dreadful items, so maybe my theory is shEEt.

OOps, I didn't see that part. IMO, then the only way it would have been Bobbye's is if it's sequined on silk or chiffon. In that case it may be a 2x, but fit like a roomy large. But that's WAY annalyzing things now, and scary. :laugh:

Pffffffff! I don't think Stevie ever entered the 2X category, not even during Street Angel.

Oh and that dress? Hideous! I can't see Stevie wearing that combination of colors, they're too bright for her. When she does dare to go "light and bright" it's usually one solid color, like red, white, maybe a pastel here and there, but not a wild pattern like that.

This is rich. My sister and I have had this very same conversation before! Golden Girls fashion! It's sad that Rose is paragon of fashion on that show because that ain't sayin' much, and I don't know whose worse, Dorothy or Blanche!

One of my favorite lines from GG is when Dorothy asks to wear one of Blanche's necklaces and Blanche says, "That's fine, but that necklace was made for a dainty neck" and Dorothy says, "I'm sorry Blanche, but I don't know Mike Tyson well enough to borrow his jewelry." :laugh::laugh:

When the Silver Springs Emporium was still open, I used to send for periodic photocopies of what was currently available, and I have a sheet (received '95/'96) with that outfit on it!
