It's really good. The extra interview time clarifies some things, or explains them better. There is also more music played throughout, which I found much more enjoyable.
I've been getting really emotional lately about Stevie/Mac. I keep bursting into tears. I think it's from...realizing that nothing will ever sound that great again. No one will ever do that. At first I thought I was imagining it, or it was pms or something. But it's not, it's discovering a new beautiful sound each time I listen, even though I've been listening pretty exclusively for at least the past 12 years, plus unwittingly falling in love when I was little.

The past few days it's been the harmonies on Never Forget and Honey Hi that have been really getting to me. I can't believe how they sound together. Each voice distinctive, but also blending perfectly.
But it could be anything. Almost any time I listen to Stevie's voice, especially from the early to mid years, or when she does harmonies with herself - I can't believe that there will never be anything like that again, including Stevie herself. It's gone. And at the same time as I am sad, it's too much beauty, it fills me with uncontainable joy.

I dunno, maybe all that sounds dumb. Maybe I'm "pre-mourning" and also mourning that I wasn't there when it happened; I couldn't have more of it. I want more, I want more forever. I want something exactly like "that" always being newly created. I never want to be without "that". I want a new exact same band renewed for eternity. If there's an afterlife, I want them to be the constant soundtrack there, too. And I want to touch stevie's hand once during the edge walk!!

It's really been affecting me, I really have been crying, either from being sad or from being so joyful. And otherwise I'm pretty happy and regular right now, things are going fine. It's starting to freak me out a little. I'm not usually quite this mushy.

Anyway, the uncut Stevie BTM is pretty cool. :p :o
A couple segments are missing - Part 3 most notably, when they are "discovered". That's one of my favorite parts 'cause it has the live Rhiannon clip, and the snippet of Say You Love Me, and everyone is all happy and beautiful and getting famous and being stars and touring and sounding great together and coming up with kick ass rad songs.

Hey Amber: i haven't read your entire post, but i did see the bit about honey hi, i love that song too. I get emotional sometimes too, coz i feel as though i missed so much... Im 24 and being in Australia means im limited even more to what is left.... of course thats about to change for a few nights!

I love honey high... i cant remember never forget... you see i never look at the actual titles of songs or the albums much, they just go in the car and in the cd player at home yet i have little idea the actual song titles....

Im about to watch youtube, i cannot believe how much i have seen on youtube, it took me 3 years to get to see that much, and then youtube comes along and there is SO MUCH STUFF, bless Priestofnothing for sharing so much with us!

I was just thinking today hours before I read your thread, how perfect the chemistry of Buckingham /Nicks era Fleetwood Mac was on those first 3 albums. The instantly apparrent alchemy of The White Album ,that chemistry taken to it's perfect zenith on Rumours and the brilliant splintering of that evavescent chemistry on Tusk. For a few years this band really was something and that something is unrepeatable by them or anyone else. The chemistry was never the same IMO after Tusk. There have been flashes of what once was since but certainly not sustainable over an entire album.Even as it was all unfolding there was always the constant threat of the band breaking up and never making another album ,so I guess we're lucky we got the later albums with the occasional reminders of how great the band had been for those few glorious years when at least on vinyl everything seemed so right.

I totally agree. With how amazing they were, and how it's slipping away, and it'll never be the same. I am _so_ sad I missed it all. I mean, I was only _born_ in 1989! And I only found out about them a year and a half ago. I'm so scared I'll never get to see them live. At least we have those albums. And those videos and everything.

... And if Fleetwood Mac aren't playing when I get to heaven, I want my money back!

I would go straight to part six just to see the 1981 video of her explaining how Jimmy Iovine "layed down the law". She is as beautiful as she has ever been in that video. Now that's the uncut interview that I want.

Amber, it's posts like that I don't need when I am already feeling terribly nostalgic. ;)

Btw, as I already mentioned on another board, the part where Keith talks about Stevie cleaning is funny. "Yeah, Stevie, you have to clean under things also." I can so picture all of that.

Oh Amber- I know exactly how you feel. To an "outsider" (heh), that may sound over-emotional, but *I* get exactly where you're coming from. And for the record, you always have such a great way of expressing your love of Stevie.

I was there- I am 37, so was a teenager and totally into Stevie during the WIld Heart and then die hard concert goer for RAL. So I can relate to the "pre-mourning" thing, which I think I've been doing for several years now. I love Stevie. I adore her. As stated in other threads, I would listen to her sing anything and be fine with it. But there is always this little part of me that is sad because that Stevie that was, never will be again, and reality says that she can't go on forever. No matter how good she sounds, how beautiful she looks, there will come a day in OUR lifetimes, where she's not doing anything anymore and that does make me sad, too. :(

And I want to touch stevie's hand once during the edge walk!!
Thank GOD I did this past Gold Dust Tour. She always seemed to bypass me, no matter how desperately or pathetically I thrusted my hand in her face (maybe that was the problem? LOL) It's like she had a Janet radar, but the kind that made her drift right past me without even looking!

I've been putting off watching it until I have the time to sit down and enjoy it.

By the way, Jannie and amber - I love your posts too and agree wholeheartedly. I consider myself so lucky to have been able to shake Stevie's hand during the Say You Will tour - if you can imagine my reaction when she goes to walk off stage at the end of the show and I'm there in tears screaming her name, she looks back and goes "oh" and comes directly to me, shakes my hand and exits. And to have all of this on dvd (although you can't actually see me) makes me so happy. I watch it over and over just to see her stop and go "oh" and make her way back to me. I'll never forget it. That was such a magical night.

I know exactly what you mean. I went through this - majorly - in 1987 when I really seriously discovered FM and SN. I had known (unbeknownst to me until I re-discovered them) Say You Love Me and Dreams and Rhiannon somewhere out in the back of my childhood mind... but when I fell in love with Tango, and went to see them in concert and then started to buy all the albums and all Stevie's albums, I mourned big time! I was 17 in 1987, so I didn't really have any conscious memories of them all in the 70s. Even in the early 80s... I loved Leather and Lace and Stop Draggin My Heart, but I was 11 - not exactly buying albums and going to concerts yet. All I wanted was to go back in time and experience Fleetwood Mac and then Stevie in real time. It was really emotional for me, too, so I know exactly what you're going through. And it's still something I think about today, looking at where music has gone in recent years. It's depressing - but at least we will always have the words and the music and the performances. And thankfully, because of their longevity, we've all made our own memories of them, too. I can tell you, I have shaken Stevie's hand, more than once, and had a "connection" moment with her, too - and I can tell you, I did actually think, I can almost die happy now. But I still have to have that conversation with her... :o

Wow! Those are awesome! Thanks for drawing our attention to those Amber. I have never seen Stevie's BTM before. A special thanks to priestofnothing for putting all this great stuff on youtube. You should change your name to priestofeverything!

I love the part, I think in part 3, where Mick says "Her Rhiannon in those days was like an exorcism", f**k, I laughed at that part

I totally agree with what your saying Amber. Stevie said she wanted to be just like Janis Joplin and have her audience in the palm of her hand......well she got that! I get chills or start to cry if Stevie hits a certain note in a song or when I watch the emotion she puts in a particular performance.

Awww, Amber. You're a big ol' softy! :xoxo: Stevie's harmonies make me tear up a little, too, because they are just so beautiful and effortless. I could watch the Tusk Doc clip of her and Lindsey playing Angel at the piano over and over again. (And I sometimes do!) No one will ever have a voice like hers again. :distress:

You guys made me feel not quite so dorky. I'm still a little worried, as I burst into tears from reading all of your posts.

Brwn_eyes - I have the FM BTM behind the music on my puter, I'll try to upload it. I got it from Torrent, so I dunno how that works or whatever.

Janis- I forget sometimes that there are people younger than me who have even less time with the mac. :o I know, there are many, many things I haven't seen on Youtube either - it's been wonderful. Never Forget - it actually kind of resembles Honey Hi, tunewise. And listen closely to the harmonies. subtle but gorgeous. Plus, Christine singing "just remember that love is go-o-o-old" is very beautiful.

BombaySapphire3 - That was a wonderful description. I guess we are lucky, but hearing it at all, even for such a short time period, then having it "taken away" kind of makes it more painful. But you are right, thank goodness it existed.

vermicious knid - I adore that interview snippet, too. If you ever locate the whole thing, let us know. I have had it memorized for awhile, and in my head I call it "the perfect feathered hair interview".

Jannie - thank you for your kind words. It's nice you know how I feel. It's also wonderful that you got to have so much Stevie in your life. I often wonder if I would be mourning less or more if I had gotten to know her earlier. Sometimes I think more. hahaha, I thought she had "Amber radar" during the Edge walk, too, but you've given me hope.

Jazmen - I figured you would get it. That's so sweet Stevie came back. I was in front of her monitor during SYW - I swear she hit everyone's hand but mine. :( It was okay, though - I almost died from excitement that night to hear them all sing together for the first front row time. I still tear up thinking about the unequaled beauty of when Lindsey comes in for harmony on BC. Cried every time.

Catinthedark - you do know exactly what I mean. :xoxo: It's funny, I was going to put in my post "and I'm sad I'll never talk to Stevie or any of them" and then you said it.

Bikerchic - Hi! :wavey: I know.

ka10. I, too, have watched that clip over and over and over and over and over...don't you just wish you were there?

isn't it...that's why I am hellbent to defend Stevie to the end no matter what - because she did that for me...

maybe it was the flood of tears for the entire show as I sat directly under her - no joke

or maybe it was the fact that I had on the moon and pyramid necklaces

or, who knows, maybe it was the tshirt that said STEVIE NICKS in glittery rhinestones that caught her eye ;)

Oh, shoot, I'm sorry - I was of course thinking of Rumours classic album. brainfart, because of course why would I have it dl'd to my 'puter if it was on video? Der.
She's sending it? Whew, that's another tech thingy I don't have to wrassle with. Although it should be up anyway.

Jannie -
Stevie says on another interview that I watched thanks to youtube that that period, between late sixties and 1980 - was just magical all around, no aids, the state of rock and roll and the culture was magnificent, if you were in rock and roll it was like never having to grow up, etc. - I think i'm partially nostalgic for the seventies, that state of being as well. I've always been nostalgic for that time anyway, and when you add the loveliness of the Mac it's just too much too bear.

No it's not on DVD, and it's not the same as "FM: BTM", and I was mistaken about "FM: BTM" being available in video stores - I was confusing it with "Rumours: Classic Albums."

OK, thanks. I also have the Rumours Classic Albumn. It has some really old footage of the band rehearsing at the Record Plant. I also have the Dark Side of the Moon (Pink Floyd) Classic Albumn...again some really old film of the band in the studio.

Hard to say whether it's the "cut" or "uncut" version. You can ask the seller if you want though. If you don't have BTM or Storytellers, it sounds like a good deal provided the quality is decent.

So many things about Stevie really, really get to me.

I totally understand your heartbreak, Amber. It's like looking at the sunset and knowing that the sun will never rise again. Very sad. Stevie still has the ability to give it one more go and release a solo album. She could do that very easily.

The BTM is just fab. It's amazing to me how unbelievably moving that moment is at the end of "Silver Springs" from The Dance when she finishes the song, and still gripping the mic with both hands, drops her head to the ground..... my eyes just well up at that sight. That performance was another one of those Stevie moments that only happen once. She reaches and reaches and reaches and then PING she touches the top of the sky and your whole brain/bio-electric current just goes wild.

The first time I saw "Silver Springs" was a pre-release of the video for the song before the actual special was aired. I was ironing my clothes to get ready for work and it came on and I flipped. I just flipped. I shrieked at the top of my lungs (scaring the crap out of Geoffrey) and I fell to my knees in front of the tee-vee in awe.

I've said it before and I'll say it again- when Stevie is good, she is very, very good.

I've said it before and I'll say it again- when Stevie is good, she is very, very good.

Dammit, Towie, you made me cry again. And this time with mascara. It was your masterful description. That is exactly what it's like. And add watching the last sunset while eating the last chip while swimming in the river for the last time. :o And like you said, it really is heartbreak. I have an immense well of sorrow about it right now; it's extraordinarily painful. Like when you break up with that person you really loved, and you can't stop crying for weeks, and everything you think of makes you cry about that person, and your chest actually hurts.

I remember I flipped, too. I couldn't believe it, I had never even suspected they would be together again, that I would ever see any of them live. I think I almost fainted. It was even more shocking because I had never heard or heard of Silver Springs at that moment. I cried, oh yes I did. I also asked people if they wanted to buy tickets to The Dance and take me. Well, just 1 or 2 people. But still. I'm still furious that I missed it.

lovely. I agree. I am so grateful for The Dance for exposing me to Stevie...imagine life without ever becoming aware of her music...ugh...

This is why we love The Dance...:woohoo: :xoxo:

So many things about Stevie really, really get to me.

I totally understand your heartbreak, Amber. It's like looking at the sunset and knowing that the sun will never rise again.

I've said it before and I'll say it again- when Stevie is good, she is very, very good.

The "sunset" line is such a beautiful, and heartbreaking statement, but it is so true. I have been reading this whole thread feeling a little sad, but REALLY comforted
I am just so glad that I found the ledge, and that I know that there are people out there who love Stevie every bit as much (sometimes more) than I do. I haven't met anybody at any concerts or anything, and I ony post sometimes, but hearing the personal stories and sentiments, (as well as the ocasional bitch sessions) is just so great. Amber, you are (as this message board proves) definatley not alone in having thiese feelings:wavey
By the way,( I know I seem to tell you this alot) but saying "maybeunconditionallovewillchangeyourmind" out-loud NEVER fails to bring a smile to my face.

oh yeah - thanks.
I was comforted too by what everybody said. Someone even pm'd me and said they had a similar mini-mac breakdown. :p
I was glad to find the ledge, too - I never knew anyone at all before who liked the mac.
How'ya doing? :wavey:

Very well said. Your Silver Springs account had me LOL...the GDW wail from the Dance gives me goosebumps. EVERY time...(see Paula's new signature)

And Amber's original post, I "get it." It's nice to have a place like this where other people get it too. :D

It sure is. In the outside world, I'd be a Superdork for my Stevie/Mac feelings.
Here, I'm a Superdork for completely different reasons, and that's very comforting.

My super Dance moment was the end of Rhiannon. DREAMS UNWIND AND etc.

I have the "Silver Springs" import CD single with "Over My Head" and "Gold Dust Woman" on it and I always rewind that part over and over and over and over. It's my favorite Stevie vocal moment from the last 20 years. When I saw The Dance the very first time I thought my head was going to explode and my jaw got a rug burn.

Dear Amber,
For a person who prides herself on always using proper grammar, the title of this thread is not particularly flattering.

This thread is about an uncut Stevie video and not about grammar. Plus you are not allowed to call out people individually in threads.

Dear Amber,
For a person who prides herself on always using proper grammar, the title of this thread is not particularly flattering.
I don't pride myself on grammar, I'm a stickler for spelling, which may or may not include the capitalization of words. I'm not sure I actually pride myself on my spelling, though. Maybe a little, but I spell things wrong, too.
I do pride myself on run on sentences that only few can decipher.
My knee brace isn't flattering either, but I wear it anyway.

GDW is one of my favorite Stevie performences ever, if not my favorite. She is so sexy and raw. LOVE it.

I also have a soft spot for "Sisters of the Moon" on the Tusk doc outtakes. When she raises her hand and yells, "Yeaaahhh!", I'm like the bouncing blob smilies.

Did she go "it was hahd t' breatheYEAH!" or was it some other part?

My fave GDW is Japan superyowliecurlyhead version.

If I remember correctly, it was after she sings "sister of the moon." She puts her hand, up, yells, and the audience goes berserk.

Oh.My.God. and then she falls to the floor. But my favorite part is the super extended yowl that's almost off key, or is, but you don't care. Exorcism indeed.

I do too.

I got the Dance video and I watched it from beginning to end.

I got to GDW and I had to stop breathing. I could not believe someone was singing like this. I never saw this before...this kind of passion. I rewound it again and again. When she screams and her fist flies up and seconds later she's back to the delicate little fairy of a woman.

Wasn't it Debbie Harry who said that Stevie was such a little woman with a big voice. I was facinated by it all.

I had that cd too...never got why GDW didn't make it on the cd...it's right up there with Silver Springs.

To me, that GDW is what made me a Stevie fanatic and is right up there with her Rhiannon from the Mirage video ( I love, love, love that version) and Angel live from 79.

This Behind the Music was released around the time Waddy was accused of having something to do with child porn. All the Waddy stuff was cut. Does anyone remember this? What ever happened? It was on the news that he and his wife were arrested.

I never heard this story. When did this happen? Is that why this BTM is called "uncut"...it includes the Waddy material?

2000-2001...

There's other stuff in there besides Waddy - longer interview segments from Stevie, Mick and Keith Olsen. And as already mentioned, a few REALLY nice pics that I've never seen before.
