Los Angeles fans party??!!

Hey LA ledgies/fans.....would anyone be interested in a fan party?? I'm curious about numbers. I found a great location, that requires NO MONEY for us to use their room; you pay just for eating and drinks. This OF COURSE would be open to your friends who aren't ledgies lol

There is a restaurant in Burbank called Acapulco's...right across the street from NBC studios. Call it corny, lol, but it's good for several reasons....
*It's easy to get to...close to all of us...even the (West) Hollywood Ledgies :nod:
*Most places I know of, that have a banquet room big enough for more than 25 people, requires a deposit/payment just to use it.
*It's the restaurant I met Stevie at. She, Jay and Chris went to eat there, and so did we, after she performed "Stand Back" on the Tonight Show in 1998. :D
*They will let you bring in music, balloons, etc.
*Aaand....Stevie's favorite type of food is Mexican! LOL :laugh:

I know this place well...been there several times for drinks prior to going to a Leno Show taping. OK with me. I suggest a Friday night...already nearby in Studio City...and cocktail hours like 6-8'ish

Another suggestion, wait a few weeks until the Australia tour is in full swing. There will be tour news to talk about.

all you guys who will come...and aren't sure where Acapulco's is.....it's across the street from NBC studios...right off the 134 freeway....it's also close to the bob's big boy on Riverside...I'm trying to think of what else I can name that it's close to....well....it's close to everyone in LA!!! ;) again psome bonuses to having it there....:thumbs up:

Just a thought. While Burbank may work for some of us, myself included, for a good turnout I would find something in West LA, more central. There is a place called Cinq on Wilshire (it may actually be in Santa Monica) that has an upper room and doesn't charge. I've gone to several mixers there. See L7

Just a thought, maybe you guys could do it the same night as one of stevie concerts.... have your own stevie party... Just make sure you head off to a kareoke bar afterwards!!

Friday night from 6-8pm is the WORST TIME EVER during the week to have it!!!!!!

Traffic all around LA at that time is HORRIBLE!!!!! People getting off of work, bla bla bla. I personally think 8-10 is a better time, but any day other than Friday from 6-8. Saturday from 6-8 would work better than Friday.

Saturday night is when I planned having it.....I'm open to have it anywhere....my concern is that if i'm the one getting decorations, setting up music, etc., it would be easier to have the place closer to me....that's all :o

I don't think we need decorations, unless you feel strongly about it, Marisa. Hey, if you're taking the time to organize, then choose Alcapulco's if that is close. (You can point out the exact spot where you met Stevei!) I still think Friday is better. Most people have Sat night plans. Have it later then 8-10

ok guys...if we have it on a fri night at 8, so there is no traffic, we will LESS time to spend there cause they close at 10/11....if it's on a Sat night, we can get the room earlier, like maybe 6, and have more time....milk them for all they got since the room is free...AAAAND we'll have more time to talk Stevie and meet eachother ;)

I guess it's settled...beautiful downtown Burbank it is. If everyone wants Saturday then OK.

I find it astonishing that Stevie sat down for dinner at Alcapulco's. It's a nice place all right but hardly fine dining. Certainly they could have brought food to her dressing room at NBC. Heck, if Stevie was that crazy for Mexican food, they could have sent someone to run across the street to Alcapulco's for carryout! I will say at about 3 PM, just before going in for the Leno show, the restaurant is nearly empty...after lunch and before happy hour.

Marisa, if you're having this on a Sat night in March, you should consider the Pac 10 or NCAA basketball tournament games. I said consider , not cancel or postpone the night. The local teams, UCLA and USC could be playing that night. If you go with Mar 4 you may be safe. I'll look into it. Thanks for organizing this.

FYI...I looked it all up. If you're going to do this fan social in March...Sat the 4th is the only weekend free of major college basketball action. The Pac 10 tournament final is Sat. night March 11th, and there is a very good chance UCLA will be in it. Then the NCAA goes the next 3 weeks, which will include both UCLA and USC to some extent.

We tried organizing something for CA Ledgies a few months ago and agreed it would be in northern CA but that's as far as we got and nothing ever came of it. And then a couple months ago I tried getting people to go to one of Waddy's shows and no one committed to that either so I don't know what the problem is. I'm just as confused as you are :shrug:.
