Let me firstly say that i am very lazy and thats why it has come to the point that im asking for some advice and some help! :sorry:

As nearly all of you know and by my little icon, i met Stevie in November yet it was upsetting to me, not on her part whatsoever, but on the people around her. A long time fan of stevie's told me to send her a letter explaining how i felt and why as stevie would not be happy to know what took place around her...

Now im not a writer, i have a difficult time getting out what im thinking and feeling and have put it off... and off... and off, till two weeks ago i had an urge at midnight to write a letter. Anyway this letter full of rambling and nonsense needs to be edited and sent with the pic of stevie and i to her.. BUT my problem is that STEVIE Is ALREADY IN AUSTRALIA :eek: AND stevie is actually next week going to be practising for 5 days only 1k from my work!!!

.... So what can i do to get even the smallest note to her? I know she will remember me if i send it with the pic, but i dont know where to send it, dont know where she is staying...

I JUST DONT KNOW.... and whats worse is that im too late... :distress: (insert crying smilie here)

You need to find out where she is staying...what hotel. If you can find that out...send it by personal courier...not Fedex..but local courier...it will get maximum effect. You could also send something to the promoter...but it's likely not to make it to Stevie. You're right...you are very late.

I could be wrong but in my opinion the odds of successfully doing things that way (sending to her hotel) are VERY low. I would imagine that any Hotel that Stevie stays in while on tour is instructed, in extremely clear, unmistakable terms, not to forward ANYTHING to her; unless it's from, for example, Chris or her Mom.
I think your best bet at this point in time is to send it to the Carrollton Address - through Nicksfix. That is, after all, the address that Stevie has requested fans use - for fanmail.

And no offense intended - but that's what this is. Nicksfix and Stevie are actually VERY precise about this sort of stuff, and that is the method that Stevie has requested that fans use to contact her. And please don't take this the wrong way, I'm not trying to be mean or calling you a "crazyperson" - but you may wish to think a little about why it is that 2 people have replied to this today, out of 77 people that viewed it. The address to send your fan mail to Stevie is below.

Sorry if I seemed a little mean before but we (the "chatters") have had to deal with one or two "nutbars" in the chat room on Nicksfix lately - so I guess I'm feeling a little bit paranoid and jumpy right now. If you read it twice, the phrase "got to find out which hotel she's staying at" has the potential to "set off some red lights" - do you see? But maybe the courier thing is a good idea!

Yes harriet i am, and will be there during the edge walk... But i see in so many concerts that she hands the stuff straight to the gaurd with her and he just either puts them on the ground or they are almost thrown at someone else.... Do you think she would want or receive anything given? And the flowers i would send her wouldn't be possible to hand over... Stevie only gets BIG! :laugh:

Love your picture.... Maybe you could send a note to the concert hall. I've done that before in Holland and she did get it (she told me after the show). Send it to the production office. But.... I've heard that she won't be too happy when you complain about her peeps. I don't know what happened but you've met her and had your pic taken. If anyone was rude to you, you'll have to get over it, try to ignore those people next time and try to meet her through someone else (preferbly her manager Sheryl Louis). Good luck!!!!!!!!!

Remember when the security guard freaked last summer? From his point of view it looked like the guy was trying to pull Stevie into the crowd, but Stevie remembered the guy and realized that he's "special" and that he had just fainted, and it later turned out that she was pulling backward with ALL of her might to try to prevent him from hitting his head and getting hurt, bless her wild heart. :angel: Stevie's and Andrew McManus's security guards and people know their jobs -
Protect Stevie at ALL costs - and Stevie feels her job is, "Protect and entertain her fans - at ALL costs." So maybe nobody did anything wrong, in a way - these people are paid a LOT of money - ultimately,
by Stevie - to err on the side of caution.
Just some food for thought. It's like the chinese finger puzzle, i.m.o. Don't f. with her people or she's gonna get REAAAALLL f'n angry.

Also, I'd like to mention - don't underestimate how protected Stevie is. I think Kelly was alluding to this - these people are probably VERY high-level, almost to the point of being at the level of Secret Service agents. Some of the big stars - (and Stevie IS a "big star" ) - are hiring EXTREMELY expensive security companies that are VERY "high-level" - and they literally may be retired members of Delta Force. Stevie may have the biggest heart in the world and love her fans, but these people have a job to do and they DON'T care about your feelings, only protecting Stevie, even if someone's feelings get hurt and even if they make a mistake.
I'd like to suggest waiting and let HER recognize YOU. I've been told that on occasion her memory for fans she's met in the past is actually quite astonishing. Just go with the flow, and have fun. And I sincerely do hope this helps somehow.

Not to be too naive or gullible but I've been told by someone who knows (yeah, him) that she really does try as hard as she can to read them all.
Obviously that depends on her mood, how busy she is, what's going on in her life, how much time there is until the next show, etc. I suppose sometimes her assistant gives her a "summary." But like every other human being - she tries. Probably as hard as she can.

Some of us paid hundreds of dollars to have a similar experience at AHI, were treated rudely, AND didn't meet her or get a pic taken.

I second that...and what Jannie said too. I about killed myself trying to get an autograph/picture in Biloxi and it really took away from the enjoyment of the concert. You have a picture with her - and a GREAT picture at that. Enjoy yourself. I can't wait to hear all about it.

Let me firstly say that i am very lazy and thats why it has come to the point that im asking for some advice and some help! :sorry:

As nearly all of you know and by my little icon, i met Stevie in November yet it was upsetting to me, not on her part whatsoever, but on the people around her. A long time fan of stevie's told me to send her a letter explaining how i felt and why as stevie would not be happy to know what took place around her...

Now im not a writer, i have a difficult time getting out what im thinking and feeling and have put it off... and off... and off, till two weeks ago i had an urge at midnight to write a letter. Anyway this letter full of rambling and nonsense needs to be edited and sent with the pic of stevie and i to her.. BUT my problem is that STEVIE Is ALREADY IN AUSTRALIA :eek: AND stevie is actually next week going to be practising for 5 days only 1k from my work!!!

.... So what can i do to get even the smallest note to her? I know she will remember me if i send it with the pic, but i dont know where to send it, dont know where she is staying...

I JUST DONT KNOW.... and whats worse is that im too late... :distress: (insert crying smilie here)

So #1 Janis, you've been given a LOT of advice and suggestions. What are you going to do? If we were to do a poll the various advices, I'd weigh in with the Ghost, again:

I have a giftbasket Business and sent a basket to her in L.A. and freaked out that I was in her dressing room leaving it on her make up table. So..I know these things do get delivered to where they need to get to!! TRUE STORY!!! Good Luck Janis!!!

I'm just saying keep this in mind because as I fan of Stevie I'm sure a lot of others feel the same way and I've been wanting to tell you this since I first heard about your encounter in November. Please know that this comes from my heart and is not meant to offend you in any way. I totally respect your feelings :).

That being said...DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW LUCK YOU ARE THAT YOU MET STEVIE NICKS AND GOT A PICTURE WITH HER?? Regardless of the circumstances, how you were treated, and what occurred with the people around her YOU GOT TO MEET YOUR IDOL. Do you have any idea how many people would have died to be in your shoes and to have such an opportunity? Who cares what took place around her. You got what you wanted and were in her presence for a half hour was it? I am one of the lucky ones who met her briefly after an FM show for a meet and greet but due to very unfortunate circumstances I was never emailed the picture that was taken but you know what? Instead of being mad at how I was treated I treasured that moment I had with her and will forever hold it near and dear to my heart. Do you know how painful it was that I did not receive the picture that was promised of me and my beloved Stevie? I am still to this day not over it but I focus on the good and remember who fortunate I am to have ever met her in the first place and I think this is something for you to consider instead of being upset about the circumstances surrounding the situation.

It’s just a tad bit disheartening to hear about you being upset when you got an opportunity that most people can only dream about. I hope you understand where I am coming from :xoxo:.

I admit I don't know what the current situation is, but I've seen pictures of Stevie's bodyguard that were taken in the late nineties. He's about 300 pounds, and looks like he bench presses about 400. No exaggeration.
And stars with MUCH less money than Stevie - or their movie/record comanies, etc. on their behalf - have hired the types of security companies that I was mentioning. I don't feel I'm "hyping up her importance," I'm just saying, "be realistic about what Stevie's security situation may be these days."
She's been stalked by crazies in the past and there was at least one kidnapping threat - and Stevie's perfectly capable of hiring the type of security company I was describing and may have found it necessary to do so.
(Or may have been talked into it by a friend, family, the record company, etc.) These people have mace, they're NOT afraid to use it, they are VERY highly trained and they care first about protecting the "star," not the fans feelings. And they WILL err on the side of caution.
So all that I was saying is, please be aware that that may be the situation in Australia, and that if you "push," it'll backfire - and that won't help to get a message to Stevie.

Janis - I think BlackWidow may be "onto something" with the rehearsal thing -
Stevie will probably be much more "accessible" (and feel that way) and have more time to talk on a rehearsal day, rather than on "Show Day."

Stevie, while she can "move like lightning" when she wants to, being a dancer and all that, and while she's physically strong - doesn't exactly bench-press 200 pounds. And she's an attractive woman. I'm not saying there's no attractive women out there who can bench press 200 pounds but -

Now I am gonna sound like a whiny, fussy, baby and say stuff I have been harboring for ages. Stevie's "people" are twa*s! They are what keep MORE fans from meeting Stevie. Yea, they have a job to do and yadda, yadda, yadda, but their "protecting" her for all these years have made Stevie 500 times more sheltered than she needs to be. For every "psycho" fan attempting to meet Stevie, you get 10x's more stories from devoted folk who just try to be courtesous and meet her and get the shaft for their effort. Whereas I can't say that Janis should say anything, cause I agree how lucky she was to have met SN, I still say that if Stevie had one notion of the crap her people (or her friggin brother for that matter) pull with her fans, she'd be dismayed. Perhaps it's that very reason why SN turns a blind eye.

I'd say just leave it, and instead devote that attention and effort into meeting her again. Make us Ledgies even more irate that one person got to meet their idol not once but twice. :rolleyes: :p

Regardless of the circumstances, how you were treated, and what occurred with the people around her YOU GOT TO MEET YOUR IDOL. Do you have any idea how many people would have died to be in your shoes and to have such an opportunity?

Yes, you see i knew afterwards and even on the walk to the tent especially how very fortunate i was, i KNEW that there were many more dedicated LONG decade term fans that deserved such as occassion so very much more than myself... this is why i just couldn't bring myself to post for couple of days afterwards... i knew ledgies were waiting for me to come back and share the experience and my extraudinary tales but i just couldn't do it. I came back and posted breify on the monday and explained my absense, and to my absolute surprise got some gorgeous support and beautiful posts, and one person in particula sent me such a lovely pm that i just snapped back into reality (hope you know who you are). in short: i got depressed after it, couldn't enjoy the massive blessings i had received as i got caught in something else yuk, i only just started in the last few weeks able to open the photo, soon im finally going to print it off..

Who cares what took place around her. You got what you wanted and were in her presence for a half hour was it? I am one of the lucky ones who met her briefly after an FM show for a meet and greet but due to very unfortunate circumstances I was never emailed the picture that was taken but you know what? Instead of being mad at how I was treated I treasured that moment I had with her and will forever hold it near and dear to my heart. Do you know how painful it was that I did not receive the picture that was promised of me and my beloved Stevie?

How :( .... im so saddened to hear that.... For me I dont know how to explain it... I am not MAD at the people around her... Can i make some sense at saying that i was made to firstly feel like a peice of dirt, made to feel so very small, then after this warm up in shame was snapped at so very rudely right in front of her and in front of other people and it just crushed me right there in that moment. I haven't felt that way since the highschool dramas.... I walked out depressed, and i was telling myself because i knew that in that moment i should of gone, yep that was a bit weird, and those people are crap, but wow i cant believe what just happened, OMG i just met her, she held my hands, suggested a photo, had a laugh with me.... yet my esteem was so shattered that i couldn't overcome it.... This post is getting long, but as brief as i can say it: why i was so shocked was that dale and i were dressed well, we speak well, have good jobs, house in a respectable suburb, drive good cars etc (all that crap), yet i had a lady after i so very politely and elequently told her when she asked how i came to be there, answered that i had a friend of a friend get me into the tent as they knew i was a stevie fan say back to me "oh i didn't realise they were letting the (add tone) general public in"

And i do, this is why i try to say little of negative, as what you say is absolutely true, i find it cruel to bring it up as yes many people would of done so much to of been where i was on that day, and that is what i try to remember and being on the ledge makes me appreciate it so much more... Without the ledge i wouldn't of been in that tent, and i wouldn't of been able to appreciate that day... I never meant to complain in the thread about "how i got to meet stevie, unlucky me" just to say that i wanted to get a note to her and explained why i wanted to as i never got tell her what her what her and music meant to me etc... I have learnt from the fmac tour and that lucky day in november, that if you "push it to the limit" things do come..... and i know that if i dont push to get that messgae to her that i will have those terible thought... the "if only i and the regrets

But it wasn't Stevie who was personally rude to you. I'm sorry you were hurt and no one wants to feel belittled or like a piece of dirt but you know what, it's a part of life. There are rude people out there (especially when it comes to wealthy people and the entertainment business) but there is not a damned thing you or I can do about it. I feel bad that these people diminished your Stevie experience but it happened and I think you need to accept it and move on. I know it's easy for me to say but trust me I've been in a similar position and eventually you just have to get over it. Writing Stevie a letter explaining to her what happened - I just don't see the point. You are not going to change these people and I'm sure Stevie knows what goes on around her, it's a part of the business (and their job) and that doesn’t make her a bad person. Trust me, I live in Los Angeles and I know how these people can be. Don't take it personally sweetie. That being said I still think writing a letter telling her what you wanted to tell her when you met her is a great idea! I just don't think telling her the part about what happened at the races and your negative experience is going to serve any purpose.

I think maybe posting a thread about ANYTHING in here is bound to result in discussion about all SORTS of things other than the original subject. Just check out my thread about "Stevie likes pumpkin pies" and let's see what happens! :laugh: But really though, I'd like to point something out - I admit I was a little "worried" at first and maybe even paranoid, but - there's now been over 100 responses to your post. Most of those were people trying to be helpful, and were more-or-less kind. My only point is, there's a LOT of support out there between Stevie fans, which is one thing that makes her great. (Because I feel that a part of that is a reflection of her personality and her feelings for her fans.)
Trying to think how to phrase what I'm trying to say....hmmmmm...
Well, just that you gotta "take the bad with the good" sometimes, and, even if there was a problem that needed to be solved, there were dozens of fellow Stevie fans that tried to help you out in one way or another, and shared other experiences that THEY'VE had, in order to try to help you feel better and to help you get your message to Stevie. So in addition to getting to meet Stevie, and in addition to having the hope of speaking with her again or at least getting a letter to her, you have the support of all these dozens of other fans. So maybe you're fortunate in THAT way, too! :nod:

You see that is what it is... it is the support i got from the ledgies that made it fabulous! the actual event wasn't as such but because of the great support and especially when ledgies throw things out of left field and take the funny fun side of everything is what makes the biggest difference of all! Sometimes you need someone to look at it from another direction, another point of view that can change ones entire experience...

IT is what i enjoy the most :woohoo: ... i think that most of us here know that yes we love stevie and fmacs music, but this group of people highten the experience.. it just wouldn't be the same if it wasn't for the ledge.... :thumbsup:

Oh...I didn't know this is the same venue where the Autralian Open tennis is held. Is that a new name? I've been to the Open and it was right on the Yarra River in a sports complex, but not called LAVER.

I think if you're going to write her a letter, just wait until <i>after</i> the shows. Unless you're the kind of person who can separate your feelings. :shrug: I would just go to the shows and enjoy the moments, then worry about sending a letter afterward. It's not like if you did get a letter to her beforehand that she would pick you out of the crowd or try to get in touch with you while in Australia. So, my advice is to please have fun- you've spent a small fortune on these shows.

But in your original post you said this:

I interpreted that to mean that you were going to say something in the letter about what took place around her with her people that day and my point was that I didn't think that would serve any purpose. I do need to try and focus on enjoying the shows... I remember in 04 i was trying so hard to get good pics for the ledge and for me that i was focussing on that waaayy too much, i missed so much of the show because i had my eyes on a camera screen... and every amazing part i'd see i felt as though i was wasting it if i didn't take a pic.... Its a hardy

. I wonder how people video a show... to me it is such a sacrifice to do that just so others can see it too.
