Holy macaroni.... TOSOTM has been in my car CD player for the last three weeks and I'm too lazy to change it. Good thing, though. The perfect salve for nazzty LA traffic hatred is a good ol' dose of "Long Way To Go".

She is pissed on this song. Her vocal is fantastic- killer. Absolutely killer. My favorite things about this song:

1) Stevie plays tambourine and is rocking the joint.

2) The second verse- "High in my life"

3) ALL of the second verse (!!!)

and the best part of all

4) The vocal comeback after the guitar solo (!!!!!!!!!) Stevie as background vocalist to Stevie as lead vocal is such a great concept. Her background vocal on this line is so freeeeeking high and she rips that mo-fo.

"Can I be of any help TO YOU?!?!?!?!?
Help me, help her, help him, too BAY-BEH!!!!"

Yes, friends- "Long Way To Go" is the perfect rage-ohol for this rage-oholic...

Why the hell she never did this one live is beyond me.

I made a "I'm fukcing pissed...and here's a song about it" Stevie Mix. LWTG is the first song on it. It's a great opener.....

Of course, you also had to stick "Nothing Ever Changes" on that sucker, right?

No one sings backup for Stevie better than Stevie. That is the main reason I love Blue Denim so much. Well, that and the guitar lick.

Major props to this song.

I play it when I am mad and sing the shit out of it.

I just wish it had one more verse. And I love love love the long remix of it. The guitar work is outta this world. Michael Landau if my memory serves me correctly.

Her voice is very very high on that - does she go over A in middle C?

I had to read that three times before I comprehended it.

LWTG is probably my favorite song, next to Ooh My Love, on TOSOTM.

The background part of "Can I be of any help" is Bb above middle C and the "to you!!" is an octave above middle C

Which is sooo outta control, cuz the top of my chest voice vocal range is C# an octave above middle C. But, the problem is that it is very difficult to sing the vowels from "to you" and hold those high notes consecutively. It's quite the vocal feat, which is why this song so fukcing kicks ass....

I my youth I could with my chest voice go way up in Mezzo and in falsetto soprano was no prob. Now, I am a baritone with no difficulty and can do tenor if I behave the week before. Such is the life of a rock and roller while the heart breaks!!!

But, her vocal on that is OUTRAGEOUS considering the time in her life

I love everything TOSOTM, and this one's no exception. Definitely top 3 for me.

Absolutely. The Great Triumverate of TOSOTM...

"Long Way to Go" = pissed

"Ooh My Love" = wistful magical beauty

"Doing the Best That I Can" = despair

TOSOTM is still my favorite Stevie album, despite the "Cry Wolf" and "Two Kinds of Love".

I feel the same, but maybe even more. And I have been dying for her to do it live every since I thought of it, and I'm still dying for her to do it live. Dying. She could kick the shit out of this song.
I love it. It's been on a lot lately, along with the "vocal only" recording of it. I love screaming "AWELLICOULDOIT! OHICANMAKEITONEMORETIME!"

I'm with you, Sparky. The remix is FABULOUS. The extra attention they gave to her vocals and the backing vocals make this song soar.
A stand-out on the under-rated TOSOTM...a true gem of a release!

I like it a lot but I'm not as huge of a fan as some of you are. I do however think the extended version/remix is amazing. I could dance to this for hours! Love the synth intro. Please download if you haven't heard it. It made me look at this song in a whole new light and appriciate it a lot more. This is the only version I'll listen to now that I've discovered it. I find myself saying "Have fun tell the world!" a lot these days .

Sharona, I am in love with this remix too. Long Way is such a rockin' song. Kick ass vocals.

I LOVE Long Way to Go. Total rocker.

I don't think she ever did this one live because it *is* very hard to sing.
