This seems to be a big affair she is attending in Australia. Will she be escorted by anyone? I know she's a special guest of Andrew McManus, but he's married...I think. So, who will Stevie come with? Just curious.

She is a very beautiful, talented and sexy lady that hasn't been linked or pictured with a man in over ten years, besides the usual suspects... Mick, Don, and Tom. I find that a little strange. Who knows, maybe she will surprise us all and show up with some hot, young stud on her arm.

Sorry, this has just been bugging me the past few days, as lots of people have been doing it:

"Aussie" is not a nickname for "Australia," it's a nickname for "an Australian." A person is in an Aussie. The place, if you don't want to type out "Australia," is - and this is even shorter than "Aussie" - simply "Oz."

What about AUS? Or is that Austria?

You know, I have often wondered that myself but have never bothered to look it up. If you search "AUS" you mainly get the Austin, Texas airport, but also an Australian airline called Aus-Air. I think AUS is used much more often to refer to Australia and not Austria.

She's mentioned that she had two short lived but "nice" relationships since '98. But nobody, besides You Know Who has been linked with her besides that.

How did Oz become an abbreviation for Australia? I mean I know it is but why? No one meant any disrespect when typing Aussie.

I "hardly" think two nice but short lived relationships since the Dance means much. Two in five or six years? I know there are men we probably do not know about but up until 94, she was photographed with men quite often. The only one besides Mick I can think of, in a social setting, is that hottie Chris Issack. I always thought the guy she dumped during Dance rehearsals was ONE of the two nice relationships she was talking about anyway. She always fudges with dates etc. He must be the "You're Not the One" guy. Poor thing. Her lack of male escorts to events, like the RRHOF..she takes Mick...only adds fuel to the speculation that she digs chicks. Perhaps she doesn't mind that, even though there is no way she is a lesbian.

I think it's just because the abbreviation "Aus" sounds like "Oz" when spoken in an Australian accent. According to some Wizard of Oz website (http://www.eskimo.com/~tiktok/faq19.html):

19.10. Why is the country of Australia sometimes called Oz, and the people who live there Ozzies?

So far as I know, "Oz" came about as a nickname for Australia because, in an Australian accent, it sounds sort of like the first syllable of the country's name, or is one way to pronounce the abbreviation "Aus." (The connotation of a wonderful, far away place isn't bad, either.) And "Ozzies" is used as a nickname for the people who live there because it sounds a bit like "Aussies." I don't think there's a direct relationship between the nickname for Australia and the land of Oz, although I have heard stories of Australian soldiers singing "We're Off to See the Wizard" on their way to fight in World War II.

No one meant any disrespect when typing Aussie.

Well I know that. It didn't bug me because I thought people were being disrespectful, it bugged me because it was wrong. i'm the last person in the world who's going to get offended because somebody screws up the nickname of a country I've never even been to.

Yeah. I've only heard about you know who and the Dance mystery man and ITA, she will probably bring that sexy beast...Waddy:eek:It's ofcourse possible that Lindsey was one of the two relationships she spoke of, but since neither of them ever came clean about it (and that's the reason I am not 100% sure about it, cause why wouldn't they have, right?) we will never know. And I doubt she would be so blase about it then either.

She mentioned that the reason she dumped that guy during Dance rehearsals was because their lyfestyles were so different, it wouldn't have worked. You can only be there if you have a job. LOL. So I am guessing there was just no cute guys part of the crew for the last few years. ;)

Anyways, Waddy will probably be there, yes.

you know, i wonder whether or not stevie even cares to date (and/or have sex) at this point in her life. i know a woman in her early 50s who was married for maybe 10 years and then dated some other guy for a while. now, she's alone and she claims to love her independence. she says she wants nothing to do with a relationship. she loves her freedom to do what she wants.

on a personal note, i'm single and i love my independence. yeah, there's times it's lonely. but i just feel like i've got such a busy schedule and when is there time to seek out and put quality efforts into a relationship? i'm not one of those people that can concentrate on a several endeavors at the same time. but i will get to a point (kind of like now) that i kinda want companionship (yeah, and sex!)...so, i start to look...and then i meet someone...and, if it goes really bad then i totally get burnt and frustrated and walk away saying, "yup...this is NOT for me...i don't need this shit in my life."

if there isn't some secret relationship that stevie has going on then maybe she just plain isn't interested. i think she's also probably a bit selfish....look how dedicated she's been to her career. therefore, coupled with her status, it's just not possible to have any sole connection. and...let's face it, i don't think she's yearning to have wild sex anytime soon. don't most women lose interest in sex after a certain age? so, if you're talking about just companionship, she's got her rock star friends to satisfy that need.

back in 82, during an interview, she said something to the effect of, "you know, i may be the saddest, crabbiest, loneliest old woman...."

i hear a self-fulfilling prophecy in that statement.
