There's an awesome Stevie duet posted on the FM Legacy site -- "Secret" by Robin Zander. Stevie sings through most of the song.
One thing that strikes me about it is that even though it's from 1993 -- not Stevie's best era vocally -- I hear her hitting some pretty high notes, near-falsetto range, around the 2:15 mark.
Check it out...

Thanks for posting that. Secret is a pretty cool song and I like RZ and, more so, Cheap Trick. Apparetly, whe was friendly with them. Does anyone know the story?
BTW - they also have Smiling Islands - which is amongst by fav. Stevie vocals ever - the pain her voice is palpable - "you're the one with the eyes that give me hope" SHEEBUS. Also, there are other versions of this song for those interested in knowing that

Yes do tell! I love Cheap Trick and the thought of R.Z. and Stevie doing a duet is fabulous.

WELL...
I've known Robin since I was 15 - almost 30 years. I'm actually going to see him this Sunday when Cheap Trick opens up for Def Leppard just down the highway from me. Anyway...
He knows what a huge Stevie fan that I am and has always kidded me about her, saying that he preferres Christine's voice. There really isn't much of a story, though. Jimmy was Robin's producer and Jimmy suggested that Stevie sing on "Secret" and that was that!
His stories about Cher and Johnette Napolitano (two ladies that I adore) are much more fun...
Hope this helped!

Really? Surely you must only be talking about the quality of Stevie's voice, and not the lame ass, sugary lyrics. They're among the worst I've ever heard in my life.

I love Smiling Islands - I love the lyrics and I do not care what you say :p :p :D Seriously, I really think the lyrics are cool - but then again, I am hopeless romantic

I would give you a run for the money for title of Most Hopeless Romantic... but ... Exhibit A:
I don't want to live forever
But I don't want to die alone
A pair of eyes that love me
Is all that I want
I don't want to say no goodbyes
But I don't want our love in pain
Life's too short to play
In those kinds of games
Oh, I don't want to be the one leaving
But I see our winds have changed
We're sailing in different directions
Yet we both wanna stay close friends
Like smiling islands
I don't need to see you're pretending
And I don't want those lies in bed
It's better just to end it
Than cheat on what's left (need the vomiting smilie here)
And I don't want to make you unhappy
And I don't want to let us go
You're the one with the eyes
That give me hope
Oh, I don't want to be the one leaving
But I see our winds have changed
We're sailing in different directions
Yet we both wanna stay close friends
Like smiling islands
Then one day when we've sailed over every sea
We'll remember that we sailed away honestly  :sorry:

Considering I played that to my ex a few months ago on the piano that was bought for me, WHICH I HAVE GIVEN BACK, and there was not a dry eye in the house, it will always hold that place for me. Then, of course, I did Silver Springs (with help on the piano because that is WAY beyond my "talent" ) and the ending NEVER GET AWAY horrified people
Oh Well
Here is my former piano - I shall miss it  - but it is okay - it was really ours despite the purchasor's intent

Well, you have seen the piano and the room
I swear the some of the happiest days of my life were just us sitting in that room and in the other house and that piano being played to me.
But, some of those days were in Vegas, Madison (buying feminine products  ) , and NYC with you - so - this to shall pass :D

Strand, your piano was beautiful. Not to mention the room it's in. Nice house, man. Love the colour of the walls and I'm coveting your built-in bookshelves... But I digress...
Sorry about your parting, both with the piano and the ex. I'll leave you then to love Smiling Islands... and vow never to bug you about it again.
Okay, well, maybe just every once in a while. Just a little. Really quietly.
