Post Count Problem

OK am I losing it??

I thought that I had like 3785 posts earlier today and now I have 3777. I just posted a few times today and I still have 3777 as my post count. It did not go up. Is anyone else having this problem?

OK Now it went up. I still think that it did not move earlier today.

Was a thread deleted?

Was the edit area changed? That looked like the old one on the first edit.

It just seems a bit odd when it is stuck at the same number while you are posting. So it happened to you too Brian. At least I don't feel as if I am losing it.

I'm wondering what threads would be deleted and why.
I know that they did a purge of some of the older posts in the Chit Chat board a few months ago. Marty and Lisa left a sticky post in every forum to announce that this was being done. I did not see any sticky or notice about it this time. That would be why I was wondering what was happening to my post count. I thought that someone was messing with The Ledge. That would be why I started the thread in the first place. I started it on Chit Chat because I wanted to know if anyone was having the same problem, I also posted a thread on the Ledge board because it was a technical problem.

Just wondering because there were some other posts on the Chit Chat board that had to do with some technical problems on the board that were not moved.:shrug:

I was concerned that something was wrong like someone had hacked into the board causing problems. I don't see anyone on this thread pissing and moaning. I think people were just concerned with all of the crazy things going on lately with some of the posting.

Again, I was just trying to get the most prompt response to your question. I feel that I owe that to the members of the board. This would be where you would be most likely to get a response to that question. I left a re-direct in Chit Chat to your thread.
If you are concerned that someone is hacking The Ledge, then I guess my best advice would be to advise the moderators immediately that you suspect there is a problem, other than broadcast the hacker you're on to them (if indeed it is a hacker). In this case, I suspect it is just a glitch with the recent board update. Again, this forum would be the best place to get a prompt reply to that question.

Actually, I really don't have an explanation. With the exception of at least one that was violating the FAQ, posts have not been deleted from the board. Even if I did, post counters have to be updated manually to reflect the changes and I have not done that in quite some time. Interesting nevertheless...

Again, I do not know why post counts would actually drop, but the post count increase is delayed if you use the Quick Reply option.
