He seems like an awfully sweet man. I'm really enjoying his recollections. I knew that B & N had worked on the demos for Rhiannon, So Afraid, Monday Morning, etc... but I never knew that they'd actually performed these future Mac songs, including Blue Letter, live in concert pre-Fleetwood Mac.

With Gary's nickname, and the nickname that Javier Pacheco said that Lindsey gave to Bog Aguirre -- Lindsey and Stevie were touring with two drummers named "Hoppy" and "Bobo." Just cracked me up a little. http://theledge.hypermart.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

It's nice to know that he has such fond and warm memories of that time with them.

I had no idea they had done I Don't Want To Know & Second Hand News...if they are, in fact, the same songs that are on Rumours, it kind of puts a different spin on them. The basic idea is still the same, but it's interesting to think of them in that time frame. Maybe they both knew it just wasn't meant to be...

He didn't say that they did Second Hand News. That was an editing addition (i.e., mistake) by Lisa (woops). It was changed to Monday Morning last night. She had been trying to finish up before putting Britt to bed the other night and goofed. http://theledge.hypermart.net/ubb/frown.gif

He seems thrilled to be doing this and seems like a VERY nice guy. His sentence structure, grammar, spelling, etc are kind of a bit 'off' though and Lis is making it a bit more readable.

"Without You" is one of my all-time favorite S/L songs that never got recorded. It's got a catchy little melody, and is just a very sweet love song they sing together. That would be a nice bonus. http://theledge.hypermart.net/ubb/smile.gif

I love Without You, and would love to have a better copy of it. I suppose it's too much to ask for them to re-record it & stick that version on the CD. But that would be assuming there will be an official CD coming out in my lifetime http://theledge.hypermart.net/ubb/biggrin.gif It does sound like they all (the whole group of them) had a lot of fun together in those days http://theledge.hypermart.net/ubb/smile.gif

Gary just said that he is only 47 now, which would have made him only 20 when he worked with S&L. He was just a baby!
No wonder why he is so giddy about all those old times.
Gotta love his Q&A.

Just finished up with the "Hopster". http://theledge.hypermart.net/ubb/biggrin.gif Yep, he was pretty young, but they all were in 1972 - Lindsey was only 23, Stevie 24.

Couple of things, does everybody really think Lindsey prays before every performance or just closes his eyes, takes a deep breath settles down and gets ready? I KNOW he doesn't "glow" so let's don't go there.

Also, does anybody know what the Tudor mansion was? Was this Lindsey's first big house he moved into when they got rich? Gary referred to being "booted" out of the mansion once . . .it probably wasn't really a mansion, just seemed like one.

Did Gary mention he lives in Branson? http://theledge.hypermart.net/ubb/rolleyes.gif

LOL! Whadda mean he doesn't glow? http://theledge.hypermart.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

No, I don't think he prays in the traditional sense, but is gathering his thoughts & focusing on what he needs to do onstage.

About the praying or meditating...I think Lindsey probably prays a lot just because of some of the things he says in his songs. He mentions talking to his father at his grave-side...he asks about "someone up above" knowing all the answers about love...and so forth. It's probably not a standard prayer or something even of a certain religion, but I think he "Prays for guidance from above" (ala "D.W. Suite" often.
