Agreed! There have been other threads to this song but I never get tired of hearing it or talking about it. To be its everything that is Stevie Nicks. Its like an ampted up sequel to Dreams and Iv always wished with all my heart that she would have done an entire album with songs like that, lush, smooth, nice strong bass drum interaction and perfect vocals. Something tells me that song took alot of practice and overdubs to create and is the reason there arent more songs like it. Though BatB in the perfect follow up to it.

Wailing, not whaling. Unless Stevie's out catching whales. Which I highly doubt.

Sorry; I'm a grammar/spelling nazi. I correct people all the time. I can't help it. That's just the way I am. People don't seem to mind.

And "your" should be "you're" in "or only on line cause your anon?" :sorry:

No one cares here but u though, at least contribute to the thread and make yourself valuable to the online community. Otherwise your just a scary lurker.

Part of the fun of a chat room is that you dont have to edit yourself as much when writting but I guess someone like you wouldnt understand that. Anyway I understand your anger and desperation, these are hard times we r a livin!

I understand that most people don't love grammar as much as I do. I'm not trying to start any arguments. I just thought the whaling/wailing thing was kind of funny. :sorry:

So, I'll make myself valuable to the community. I really like the "Weeeeellllllll I don't think you do" in the newer live versions of Rhiannon.

Thank you! And i apologize too, and im glad you pointed out the wailing/whaling thing but i wish you would have first followed the thread and then pointed it out. Anyway no worries.

Good example too I like that one, she has many "wells" in her songs and she more often than not stretches them out like in your example.

Just what is scary about a "lurker"?

Back on your little topic here,, about the "whaling" I'd say that Stevie's best "whale" would be from "The Dance". Gold Dust Woman. She looked quite slim and not at all "whale-like."

I really try not to be a lurker. But I also try not to post too much, because I'm afraid I'll annoy people. Like I am now.

Stevie's "whaling" on GDW is great. She looks very non whale-like.

Why? There's no harm in reading and not posting. Who the hell cares about that? :p

.But I also try not to post too much, because I'm afraid I'll annoy people. Like I am now.:

The people who are annoying are (teenaged) newbies who tell others how they should be posting/lurking etc. THOSE people need a good slap upside the head.

I was going to make some mention of this myself, but looks like someone beat me to it.

I was going to point out that if Stevie's whaling, Greenpeace must be pretty pissed off.

Oh, and GDW Japan. "Oooowooowowowowowowowaaaoooowwwooooaaawwww"
There are a couple people here who post way too often and come across as pretentious twit know it alls. Thats what annoys me.

And those same peeps, one in particular, seems to trash Stevie far too often, that also is annoying. Yes Stevie has had her share of clunkers and there is nothing wrong in discussing them, but again some take it too far and end up looking like haters.

Spelling errors? If that annoys you you must be a very uptight person. Content, stupidity and misguided anger is what annoys me.

A lurker is harmless and is a noun.

Scary is a verb or maybe an adverb.

Choose your battles wisely.

"Take your violet and blue mornings with you"

Put them together and you have scary lurker my way of describing the spelling police.

Hold on now...

We should give Wolfontherun some credit. She/he did not actually misspell the word but rather used the wrong word which, IMO, is far more annoying than a simple spelling error. ;)

Turn off Mom's computer, now. "It's Late" and you'll just get into a "Whole Lotta Trouble" telling people in this forum how and what to post. And please don't "Talk To Me" about spelling and grammar until you've finished the 7th grade or I'll be the "Kind of Woman" who will make you "Stand Back" and you'll never see "The Edge of 17." :p

She did a really good wail during GDW during a Sheryl Crow TV special a few years back. I can't remember the name of the show, but it was the only song Stevie did for it.

I have a live boot of Rhiannon, I have no idea when or where it’s from but she wails/yells/sings “Is that what you want!!!” throughout the song and it’s awesome!!!!

Anyone have this boot? Or know when it was recorded?

Even through all the bootlegs and live recordings and albums, my favorite Stevie wail is from the FM live album on Rhiannon "Taken by... taken by the sky... NOOOOOooooooooo". Maybe not really a wail but it still gives me shivers. That and Edge of 17. I think that's a classic Stevie wail. But I do have to admit, the one she does on the Red Rocks video scares me a little.
