For those of you who have the pleasure of meeting Stevie, what is /was she like? (Sincere, funny, cute, etc.) Obviously I've never had the chance. Would really like to know your input!!

Also, I think someone brought this topic up before, but is she really careful about her public image thing? I've never seen casual pix of her in jeans, relaxing, etc. Does she not go out in public much? What's up with that?

Funny, charming, friendly........with huge, intense eyes. When she talks to you, she looks directly into your eyes.

Well, I never have either, but from what I've heard, if you get the chance, she's quite friendly.

I met her in Reading, Pa.

It was kind of accidental (or, more accurately, a surprise). A dear friend of mine had backstage passes and, at that time (the TISL tour), her usual pattern was leaving RIGHT after the show, so we were really going backstage to meet the band.

The venue was brand new (Stevie was their first act) and the security guard didn't know where we needed to go. She told us to wait in the hallway and we see Stevie's bodyguard...who never goes anywhere without Stevie, of course. And my friend barely had enough time to say, "hmmm...that's weird...." when we see this lady in red coming down the hallway with a little entourage (including her two dogs toddling along). My friend immediately went up to her and told her the show was great and Stevie cracked a joke in response to something she said...and I was just standing there--kind of frozen. Stevie looked at me and kind of gave me this smile like "come on...meet me half-way..." and I moved my hand about an inch and she grabbed it and shook my hand. I said something to her (can't remember to this day what it was) and she said thank you and then she left. But, Kelly is right. She looks right at you and you get such a feeling of warmth from her.
And she SO did not have to take her time with me. She could easily have passed me by because I was just standing there like a big oaf. I will never forget that moment and her kindness.

I saw her at her hotel in Philly last year and called her name (the two years in between have made this old lady bolder;-), and she said something like "oh, hi. How are you?" and I thanked her and this time--remembered it.
Anyway, she's very friendly. Very sweet.

As far as the image thing...when I saw her after the concert--she was in more casual clothes (if you can call red snakeskin pants and a blouse casual). The pre-concert thing in Philly--she was wearing black pants and an off the shoulder black blouse...no makeup. She looked a little tired but lovely.

I don't think she would show up in ratty sweats anywhere. It's just not Stevie-ish.

I've never met Stevie, but at her Dallas show this past July, I got to hand her some flowers and say thank you to her. She looked me right in the eye and said "Thank you!" for the flowers. :)

Stevie has that very intense look thats hard to describe ...kinda like ur the only person in the whole world she would care to speak to for that moment. I met her very briefly on the SYW tour and she was very genuine..polite..I noticed that she was very patient with fans that where emotional and very invested in conversations with everyone.
This was at the cinnci show that was extrodinarily hot and humid and I heard her mention concern for bandmates and the audience regarding heat stroke. She said something like, everyone drink lots of water this heat is nothing to take lightly...why arent there any of those little misters?

As far as her clothes, I met her prior to a show in an outdoor meet and greet and she was wearing a robins eggs blue strappie sun dress and lil ballarina type slip-on shoes . She might have had makeup on but nothing like stage makeup. She was lovely and smelled like strawberries (so did Lindsey). She was not sweating like the rest of us. I, of course was drenched and felt totally gross but she did give me a hug and shook my hand. It was a great moment for me, needless to say.

Stevie's got a heart as big as all outdoors.

She gives & she gives & she gives. And then she gives again. If you love her, she will always be faithful to the memory of your love.

She craves peace & seeks the positive spirits.

I had the pleasure of meeting Stevie & Sharon while they were out shopping and having lunch in Los Angeles. It was a once in a lifetime experiance. They could not have been nicer. Stevie is very direct..she has big eyes..and when she looks at you..she really looks at you. She was sweet but a little intimidating. I spoke with them for 5-10 minutes. Sharon was really the catalyst for keeping Stevie comfortable and the exchanges moving along. Sharon gave me a peice of paper from her organizer for an autograph & Stevie signed it on Sharon's back....very sweet! I have the autographed framed next to my favorite Stevie photo on my mantle...I am very lucky!
Stevie initialy was guarded but relaxed when she realized Sharon liked me.
I have met my 3 Idols in person..on the street....Stevie..Joni Mitchell & Rickie Lee Jones!!!! I love Los Angeles!!!

I wonder, what do you talk about when you run into Stevie Nicks on the street during shopping? 'Lovely weather we're having right, so what did you buy?'

So, what did you talk about? :)

This is true, in the picture that I have with her when I got to meet fleetwood mac, there is a reflection of light just behind her head. I tell everyone who sees it that she just naturally had that "halo glow" around her the whole time! lol Ill have to post the pic and youll see what I mean.

Could you explain this please? As best as you are able? I mean,

I "get" it too, but - what is it about her? Does she give off a

"magical aura" when she's watching "Judging Amy" on TV? Or doing

the dishes? Taking out the garbage? ( ) Is this something she's

learned? Or that just sorta . . . "happens" without her really consciously

doing much of anything at all?

Without trying to rationalize it too much, it seems like she's

somehow been, in general, "at peace" with herself, and that kinda

is reflected in her demeanor.

OH and she's Stevie Freaking NICKS!

Anyway I'd appreciate your thoughts. . . .

For me personally, my experience of meeting Stevie was at Storytellers. We, meaning the audience got to spend 4 hours watching her during this taping and some of us got to ask questions during the Q & A session. I saw alot of different aspects of her personality during that time! I will use the term "genuine article". Stevie is exactly how you think she is ! Yes she created an image, but personality wise she is just how we see her in the limelight. Warm, loving, caring, funny, even her anger and stubborness was present that day, among other things. Her image was created to be mystical and magical and for me her personality matches what you see on the outside . Again this based on my experience! LOL taking out the garbage!

Snowman, I have met Stevie on several occasions and she is very very sweet. Once in Houston at the Summit, '86 I believe. That meeting was my first one and I met her backstage after her show. She was very warm and hugged me, held my hands and said some things that I totally forgot because I was so starstruck! I do remember her telling me to have a safe trip home and I told her I love you and she did say it back! (I was only 17 at the time, so...guess I couldn't help myself! The next time I met her was in Indianapolis with Fleetwood Mac. Actually, I met Mick, John, Rick Vito and Billy Burnette as well. It was in the bar of the hotel where they were staying. This time her manager introduced me to her and I sat at a table with her for a little bit and she signed an autograph and talked for a while. It was like way cool! As for how she looked...she is absolutely breathtaking. As others have said, she is really intense. But overall, very warm and friendly, given the fact that it was after a show. Hope this helps!
