I just added a couple of requests for the CD and some new tracks that will hopefully appear on the CD. Keep checking for latest updates and make sure I've got all the stuff you need covered.
Reminder: new deadline for submissions is September 1.
Now, what am I going to do with this website after this project is over...

Jason, please add me to the requests for GDP CDs. I have also eMailed you a second song, since not too many people have submitted their songs, yet, and some people have more than one track chosen, if you need a filler~~
Thanks so much :)

Thanks for the anticipation! :) I've been singing since I was 5. I've done the whole American Idol and Making the Band thing several times. I've just about given up on it as a career, so now I'm looking to do something similar to what you do. I'd love a tribute band or a band period. Did you send the Angel mp3 to the website email?

WOW, Jason that is very cool, what happened with Idol and Making The Band? I hate those shows, not to watch (I DO watch), but I would never have the patience to wait hours with thousands of other people to even try out, I have NO patience, LOL!
What city do you live in? I have been in a number of bands, and it takes time to gather serious and GOOD musicians, but it is worth the wait. I lived in a smaller town for a year and managed to gather together a band there, even, I was born to sing, dammit! LOL!
Oh, I sent the MP3 to:
jason@golddustproject.com
Thanks so much, Jason, I bet YOU ROCK!!!!

well, with Idol it was a matter of waiting around. the first time I didn't make the cut, the second time I couldn't wait around for 4 or 5 days in atlanta to get a call back, I mean, I have to work, you know? and making the band was looking for black singers I think. One guy even called me a justin timberlake wannabe. lol. oh well.
I live in Jackson, MS. Jackson has lots of great bands, that's the problem, they're already formed.
ok, if you sent it to that address I should be able to download it.

I'd have no problem sending you an mp3, but I'm clueless as to how to do that - especially since I'm new to my iMac. I'll try to send something tonight.

OOH I love Justin Timberlake (ok no one yell at me, I really DO like him alot!)..Well, not all the bands in Jackson are formed YET...YOURS is waiting!
There is always room for more music, especially GREAT music!
Good Luck with that, I bet it CAN HAPPEN for you!!~Barbara
PS: look forward to your MP3 when you can send it, just attach it to an eMail from your computer file.

J- I'm still dealing with issues trying to figure out how to do multi-channel recording with this $150 worth of stuff I bought for the soul purpose of submitting my pieces. ARG!! So far, it looks like I may have bought the wrong software and might end up having to take a drive out of town just to find the right package. Trust me, I am going thru hell and high water to get my pieces together and sent to you. If push comes to shove, to meet the deadline, I may have to submit just one piece and do it acapella. Now wouldn't that be completely hanging my ass out there?

I'm right there with both of you. For some reason when record anything into my pc it plays back at a different speed. So while I'm multi-tracking instruments or vocals I have to go back and recalibrate the tempo to the rest of the track before I can even listen to it. Not such a bad thing with instruments but just murder with vocals. But my contribution will be in soon. I've come too far to give up, LOL.

You're doing far better than I ... Every time I solve one problem another one pops up. I just got finished uninstalling/reinstalling the entire disk and it still doesn't work. I'm thinking at this point, it's going to be a merchandise exchange.
At this rate, I'm definitely not going to make the Sept. 1 deadline.
Sigh...

Cool idea. I'd be happy to take little AVIs of my frustrating recording experience and make those available on the site too. Yea, we could have our own Destiny Rules documentary... well, minus the live show. However, for the right amount of money... we could probably arrange a little something, perhaps a live webcast.

Okay, you be Lindsay and I'll be Stevie...
Well of course you don't like it... because I wrote it! That's it, where's my electronic talking bass! I'll show you!
Wait, did she actually say "because I wrote it" in the DVD? I remember seeing a clip on AOL or the FM main site before the DVD came out but I don't recall it actually being on the DVD. It's when they were talking about her shift in perspectives and pronouns in "Thrown Down".

Maybe I can add my singing "Fall From Grace" at karaoke or "Destiny Rules" a cappella?

Yes, it does say "b/c I wrote it"... hehe.
Okay... here's the latest installment of the Ledge GDP.
Sent an email to Creative stating I've reinstalled everything and set the software settings according to the document in the link sent in the last email.
Wait two or three days until someone writes back with some other thing I have to do.
Send another email back saying "did-that-doesn't-work" again, only this time... question the manufacturing quality of this particular device. Perhaps it needs to go back and meet its maker? Afterall, the Master knob needs about 25 twists before a noticiable difference in volume becomes apparent.
Something's just not right with this piece of plastic.
Meanwhile, I snooped around on the Creative website and located the next model up. It costs $300, mine was $100. The expensive one has MIDI in/out, mine does not. There's no way I can live without a MIDI interface.
Then, this guy at work asked if I'd gotten all lined up with all my recording stuff cuz a bandmate is selling his digital 4-track. He's gonna get back to me tomorrow with a model number and price.
Hhmmm... more than one way to skin a cat. BTW, there wouldn't happen to be a GDP scholarship fund... would there?! Bwaahahaa!!! :D :D
Stay tuned... (because it's better than being off key!) :p ;)
