I'm sure this has been done before and I'm sure people are bored with favorite/least favorites but I'm curious which albums people like the most and the least. Rank Stevie albums in order from greatest to least. I actually came up with my own system. I rated each song on the album on a scale of 1-5 and then took the average number for the album. You can do it however the heck you want! Here is what I came up with. I always thought TISL was my favorite but according to this system it's third. So much for that!

1. RAL 3.3
2. WH 3.2
3. TISL 3.15
4. OSM 3.1
5. BD 2.8
6. SA 2.76

I don't think this is quite accurate though because for example TISL got more #5's on my list then WH and I like TISL better but because of my numeric system it still beat it. Eh whatever. I'm bored.

How I'd actually rate from favorite to least favorite:

I feel bad for RAL, cos I do like a lot of songs on it, but it has to come in 4th. :(

Even though Bella Donna is a 'better' album than Rock A Little, I love each one equally as far as content. RAL is just not as well produced and Bella Donna has much better musicians - which makes a big difference. All of those songs on RAL could have been much better if Stevie had worked a little harder to retain her style, instead of conforming to the style of the times.

Enchanted is WAAYYY more then a compilation. The third disk is as much its own album as Bella Donna to me. So I count Enchanted disk 3 as an album and it just happens to be my favorite.

:thumbsup: It used to be a clear distinction. Bella Donna was my all-time favorite, hands down. I've grown to love The Wild Heart just as much over the past couple years though. I think I never fully appreciated it before because the sequencing is odd (to me), but it's such a good bunch of songs.

I think that's why I don't like it very much. Because, I like...4 of the songs on there quite a bit, and 2 others are okay, which is about average for me on all Stevie's solo albums. But..I just don't like the album much as a whole. Um...not that you care.

I think it's interesting how many people put The Other Side Of The Mirror at, or close to the bottom of their lists. I listed it last too. I mean, I like it, but just less than the others. Sometimes though, my perception of an album is altered by the environment I create around me...and this album is a good example. If I listen to it early in the day....I'm bored quickly, and skip around the album and only listen to my favorites. However, if I wait until late at night...when it's dark, and my day is over, and I turn off all the overhead lights, and put colored bulbs in the lamps...a little scarf over the lampshade here and there....a couple of candles... Under these circumstances, I will actually sit and listen to the whole album, enjoying a drink or two :laugh: and loving every song from start to finish

On the other hand, I only like Street Angel in the daylight....midday, sunlight streaming throughout...with the windows open and a breeze through the house.

Sorry...off topic I guess. :laugh:

I'm so opposite of Street Angel and TOSOTM. And, actually, I thought I noticed myself being suprised that TOSOTM was near the top or middleish of some people's lists. I could be wrong.
Anyway, I like OSOTM in the day, when I am bipping around the house, and doing dishes, and kind of not paying as much attention. I almost always only put street angel on on a rainy/cloudy day.
My night/over the lamps album? It's usually not stevie, but if it were....it would probably be belladonna or RAL...actually, no, maybe TISL - except that I don't like TISL, except the songs I do like. hmmm...okay, yeah, Bombay Sapphires and Love Is makes the darky lampshade one be TISL. Although I actually listen to native american music when i'm feeling that way.... :p Maybe some Portishead. Maybe some Tricky.

TimeSpace and Enchanted should not really count, IMHO but if we are supposed to include them TS would be sixth on my list before SA and Enchanted would be fourth, right before RAL. Disc Three of Enchanted is the ultimate and would be complete perfection if she would have ditched the demo of Twisted and used the soundtrack version. What was she thinking??

but WH and RAL would be tied for that, she ROCKED during the RAL tour, with all kinds of finery changes and she was just totally playing it however she felt like that night, I like the surprises.

TWH is my definite favorite, but there actually isn't much difference in how I feel about 2-5. SA, the production is far too smooth & the usual fire is lacking on it for me. It's the only disc of Stevie's that I rarely listen to.
