Al Ortiz--Tucson!

SO...
Last night I was invited to the Firecracker at Palomino Plaza on Swan & Fort Lowell in Tucson by my friend, Bernita, to eat dinner & listen to the concert performance there. Bernita had booked a table for the four of us on the patio right by the stage, so that we had a great view of the band. We proceeded to chow down--tasty food! Then, the band is introduced>>>Tribe 7: www.tribe7band.com !
When all the members are getting ready to go, I noticed the bass player--He is AL ORTIZ who plays bass guitar/vocals for Stevie Nicks! I had just seen him in LA, Phoenix, and Las Vegas with her over the past couple of weeks! The SN Gold Dust Tour had ended on 8/6--Saturday night in Las Vegas!
I told Bernita that we would go talk with him at the break!
The band played a combo of music--Had the crowd going there!
At the break, Bernita & I went around to where Al came off the stage in the plaza, and I said Hi--Introduced myself & Bernita and told Al that I had seen him quite a few times with SN!
Al was very nice; I asked him about Australia and he said they were all looking forward to going & playing there!
I told him about The Ledge:::Lots of pics/videos/info there for him to check out!
Tribe 7 came back on & rocked out the crowd again!
I thought it was cool that Al played in Tucson!
The Stevie Nicks Connections are everywhere!

I swear I know this band from somewhere. I just can't put my finger on it. They aren't from here, but where in the hell would I have seen them. Gonna drive me nuts all night. You can all come to my place and we can go see the Blow Hole...Centrepoint tower, Climb the Harbour Bride, Visit the Opera House...and then shop heaps in Melbourne...that is ofcouse just before we go scuba diving on the Barrier Reef :)

I think Al seems a cool kind of guy, very genuine.

YO TYNAN ! Count on it. Clayre has been there and raves about it.
The Blow Hole ? That begs an off color comment, so does climbing the Harbour Bride, but I will restrain myself. I'd love to see all the sights and do lots of outdoor stuff while in Oz. Can't wait. I have wanted to go for 20 years.

Well you better save up (so will I)...the blow hole is a water spout in Kiama (just south of where I live) and Kiama is a beautfiul little coastal village. As for the rest...to be honest I haven't done any of them either so we can experience it for the first time together...I hope at least a few of you guys come out lol.

Clayre and I are committed to going. She is always game for an excellent adventure. I suspect Strand is always down for an exotic trip too, as long as we stay in some swanky assed hotels. ;) I have a contact in Sydney who will hopefully be good to us. This is going to be a MAJOR expedition. I am hoping to stay a few weeks...hit a bunch of shows, and see all of the natural beauty Australia has to offer. To be honest, I hear the men are pretty hunky too. That accent just kills me. I could get in all kinds of trouble. :thumbsup:

Of course this is all contingent on the actual announcement of the tour...

Work permitting, I am soooo there. Now, to get there will be a trip - literall and figuratively. I probably will fly Air France to Paris and then Paris to Sydney - take some time there, then go to New Zealand and then wind up in Melbourne for the show. I need to get a plannin'

It just seems like it could be just one of those things she got excited about for a second and mentioned it in the interview. I don't have a clue, to be honest. I haven't been around for a few days & suddenly there's all this talk about Australia so I went with it. It probably won't really happen, but I love to think it will (and that there's even a remote of chance that I could go, which there isn't, but don't tell Amber.) :D

I talked to Brett in Vegas about it - he brought it up when I asked him what's next for him....he seems very excited about going - as does Al!
