I certainly never knew him personally, but I have lost a great aunt and grandmother in the last few years that were very dear to me. Stevie was there for me when I needed her most, and although I wont be able to personally console her, I just wanted to say here that he gave the world a person who has been personally a part of my life for 28 years, and what she shares with the public about her father is so real and personal, I just want to say that he's in a better place than all of us right now, and with any luck, when it's my time to go, I'll have done 1 millionth of the things he did in life. Please all of you out there, tell someone you care about that you love them, because tomorrow is promised to none of us........ :(

It is sad to hear of the loss of Jess Nicks. I know he was loved by many, family and Stevie fans.
As I have been coping with the loss of my father, only one month ago, I have turned to Stevie's music as support to get me through my pain, I hope Stevie has music to get her through her own.
Here is a picture of me and my father about 10 years ago.

About 5 years ago at my college graduation. My mom, me, and my dad.

Gosh - only month ago - I can't even imagine - I'm sorry for your loss. What great pictures though - it looks like you guys were close.

Tiffany, I cannot believe how young your Dad looks in the graduation photo. What a tragedy! I think I might have met you, through Nancy...anyway, I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my own Mom when I was 20...she was only 39 and died of breast cancer. It took a long time but it did get easier.
As far as Jess..we are all sad to see him pass. I know his suffering has now ended and he lived a long, fullfilling life and I hope that brings some comfort to Stevie. As close as Stevie was/is to her Dad, I imagine his loss is taking its toll on her. It is a blessing he did not pass when she was on the road, he knew what that would do to his daughter.
I hope she can get home to LA, take a long break, reflect on things and feel her Dad's love around her.
Hang in there Stevie!

No she considers Phoenix home. I've seen several interviews
where she's mentioned that, as well as an interview of Mr. Nicks
himself where he remarked that she considers herself an "Arizonian."
During their various moves, he said, she just felt more at home in
Arizona. The LA home, I believe, is just for it's convenience to
LA itself ( although I believe she's remarked that she enjoys her
"movie-star view," the ocean, etc. However she remarked in a
recent interview during this tour that Phoenix is getting a little too
hot for her during the summer time, and she tends to leave it for LA
to escape the heat then. But obviously she's there now, or at least
with her family.

Well I also thought she considered Phoenix to be her home. I would have thought she would be spending some time there with her family
