We're now down to the final round. This is hardly a surprise. These 2 songs are among the best Fleetwood Mac songs ever. Remember, you're voting FOR your favorite.

Why to win - one of the best things FM ever did and her best by far, and that is saying a lot because her work is great.

"Hypnotized" is my favorite non-Christine McVie Fleetwood Mac song. But, the magnificent, majestic Why is the best song Chris ever wrote and best thing Fleetwood Mac ever did(as strandinthewind just said). :)

This is tough. I LOVE Hypnotized! Honestly, as much as Why. Bob really has a masterpiece with Hypnotized. But, Why is a masterpiece also, so I'm going with my queen:

I was SOOOOOO curious what you were going to do with this lifethreatening dillemma. I really hoped Bob's brilliance would give him the benefit of your doubt. But hé, I'm not dissappointed.

but like shackin up said, I wont be crying when Why wins. both are so freaking great, but for me personally Hypnotised wins.

You are right. I DO think this is- by far- the toughest final two songs, of ALL the Survivors we've played, to decide on. A tie would be GREAT! That's not possible, right?

I hate jumping in on just the final round (well, ok, I did on the Bare Trees Survivor too), but it was so obvious these would be the two finalists it was hardly worth getting in on this before.

"Why" might very well be Christine's finest song, as several here have pointed out. But to me, it's the best among a number of very good songs she wrote that are not all that different in style. "Hypnotized" though......it's totally unlike anything FM have ever done, before or since. It's freaky, it's out there. Tough choice, but I give "Hypnotized" the edge.

"Show Me A Smile"
"Spare Me A Little Of Your Love"
"Come A Little Bit Closer"
"Over My Head"
Those five songs always seemed to have a similar "feel" to me, even though I realize there are notable differences between them too. But I think of those five as Christine's "classic" songs, from what I think was her best period of songwriting. And I don't mean to say that those are necessarily her five best all-time songs, but they best represent what I think of as her classic song style. Not sure if I'm making myself clear, and obviously it's all subjective anyway.

I expect "Why" will win this Survivor in any case, but I think you could make a good case that "Why" and "Hypnotized" are FM's two best post-Green / pre-B&N songs - tough to choose between them.

Why is the winner. :thumbsup: I agree with sharksfan2000 that these 2 songs are the best Fleetwood Mac songs pre-1975 & in my opinion, at least in the case of "Why" the best Fleetwood Mac song ever.

There are a few great songs that wouldn't work with the Survivor format since they were only released as singles or b-sides - "The Purple Dancer", "The Green Manalishi", "Albatross", etc. Even "Oh Well" was not included on the original Then Play On - it was only added later.
